but lets just say that if you were to guess in the 12s, you'd probably be right ;)

lol is that official official? j/k yeah I've been hearing 4.6 for months actually. Well hey not bad. That it's basically almost as quick as a GT500. Hopefully that doesn't get to GM's head and they price it like the GT500... j/k

But imagine how fast the Z28 could be... Can you say 0-60 in 3.9?

Probably GM.
When the 05 GTO (6.0) first came out the official numbers coming from GM were (4.7 - 4.8 sec) 0-60mph, and 13.0 @ 108 mph in the 1/4 mile.

So if GM is saying 4.6 sec 0-60mph for the V8 camaro that would most likely equate to a 12.8 - 12.9 sec 1/4 mile.

I'm with ya bro! If GM figure's out whether or not they're going to build it... until then, I'll be happy with the mid 4's ---for now.;)

Hopefully when the V8 camaro is tested it will remain within a tenth or so of the GT500, but I dought it. The GT500 should have an advantage over the Camaro SS.
Don't forget the GT500 makes 500hp and weighs 3887 lbs (basically weighs the same as the new Camaro).

Motortrend July 2008 tested the GT500
4.3 sec 0-60mph
12.6 @ 114 mph in the 1/4 mile.

Sure as long as you don't have to make a turn.

The_Blur 09-20-2008 03:57 PM

I want this cited. It's the same number I've been hearing for a while, but I don't actually see the source anywhere in this thread. I just want confirmation that this is true.
