Insurance question for all Camaro 2SS 6M owners.

Now that you have your camaro and it is on your insurance policy, I have a couple questions:

what is the symbol code your company used? (ex. 21 is Corvette)
what is your deductible?
who is your company?
what is your age?
what is annual cost?

I am trying to figure out if I should be shopping around for something better. I am 40, have a clean record and a policy with multiple cars(5) and home owners with the same company and I feel I am paying too much for my camaro.

I appreciate any feedback before I call and talk with them.

Im 22, with travelers and am paying 155/month. Soon switching to progressive that quoted me 142/month however that is with a $1200 deductible. You should be much lower than me at age 40

I have no idea what symbol code is. I'm 29, with USAA, 3 vehicles insured, $500 deductable and the camaro costs ~$65/month. I think a lot of it has to do with my zipcode 27513. Pretty safe around here I believe.

I was quoted a $105 per month increase (Farmers coded the Camaro as a Corvette since they didn't have a listing for the new models yet, so I'm hoping that will decrease) and my deductible is $500.

I'm 32 with home, life, and two other cars on the policy with a clean record, so hopefully it will be around $90 once the Camaro is coded.

There are a few variables that were not mentioned..credit/insurance score, zip code, past claims on policy, use of vehicle..

I have mine at $500 comp/collision, state minimums all other. No tow, no rental. I have her rated as "Pleasure"

I also have my Harley, house, and a winter car on policy..State Farm $69 a month. I did pay $110 but did not have a second car then.

38, no tickets.

What are you paying/quoted?

I'm 21 and my policy is with progressive. My monthly rate is $220 and that's with a $1000 deductible. Yeah I know, my rate is ridiculous...it's because I'm a 21 year old unmarried male-basically the worst case possible in terms of insurance rates... I'm hoping it'll go down when I graduate in may and go off to the air force but who knows...

2SS M6
USAA
32
$250 deductible
$59.66 a month.

And I've had the recent tire claim of $504 and a $300 claim 6 years ago...that's it for claims in 16 years. So, I have a decent rate.

Lucky Dog...I got PenFed for my loans but couldn't get USAA (ex military)

My best recommendation would be to not go through Progressive. Although they may be good for the over 30 crowd. They do not play nice with the under 30. I was paying 160 a month for a motorcycle on the lowest policy they had. I would recommend something else.

I have State Farm with a $500 deductible and $73 per month. I'm 29. Not sure about the code you are talking about though.

your "code" means very little. Your credit score, zipcode, and driving record mean much more. The insurance companies typically accumulate data for the first 3 model years of a car model and then lock in a symbol or code. So lets all be careful out there and not have claims with our new Camaro's.

Get away from Progressive if you can, they are a lot more expensive than other companies. I did some shopping around in anticipation of my Camaro being built and found that Geico had the best rates, at least for me. I am 28 with a clean record and they quoted me $97/month for $50k/$100k liability and $250 comp/collision deductibles. It only went up to $117/month with $100k/$300k libility and $100 comp/collision deductibles.

That rate can still come down quite a bit with lower liability and deductibles, but I wanted decent coverage.

$169 amonth 500 ded. 47 divorced with geico.

If they ask you for this, find another insurance company. Some companies that don't have the Camaro in their database will try to use a Corvette code, and that will make your insurance higher.

Quote:

what is your deductible?
$1000, but $0 on wheels, tires, and glass.

Quote:

who is your company?
USAA

Quote:

what is your age?
21

what is annual cost?
Just over $1000 annually, but I still have a 21 over ticket on my record
