How does this happen?

So getting in my car this morning, open the garage door and as I back out and hit the button to close the door, something catches my eye...How does something like this even happen? Took it to the dealership and they just shrugged and asked me to bring it in Monday morning so some other guy can take a look at it. Said it could take 1-3 days depending on how much they have to take out and replace the seal.....

Well according to Tommy the Camaro Specialist at the dealership, he said they are getting alot of reports of the same problem in Colorado and told the service manager probably expect alot more to come in here in Las Vegas.
Guess the once a week rain we had the past week and the high heat and humidity did something?? Anyways they ordered a new seal, 5-7 days to come in, 1-3 days to remove the windshield and cure check for the new seal. On side note, my Driver seat cover keeps popping off and Tommy said, "Yep, TSB out on that as well". Is there anything on this car that doesn't have a TSB out for???? |
More likely the 116 Degree heat than the Rain. Summer in Vegas. Got to be brutal with a Black car out here. I have only lived here about a year and I thank god for light color cars.

Mines CGM....just really dirty with all the crap we got last week and the weekend.
I actually have a Car Cover, but sooooooo lazy to put it on all the damn time. I do on SUPER hot days, but figured I would let her play in the rain. Now she is mad at me! |
thats crazy..:yikes::facepalm: is just a window seal.. or somthing with the dash board...:iono:

In the picture the part is #9, the bottom seal.
And yes I already gave her blue door sill LEDs last weekend. Got a mailslot LED to put in and her next big purchase is Hood Spears, Black Powder Coat the wheels, so I don't have to clean them every week, then some Hood Pins, just because it looks cool and finally the Dash ABL kit.... Then with the wife's blessing some type of expensive performace part thingie....I have no idea.... |
Just a heads up for those who live in High Heat areas. 2 doctors that my wife works with, 1 who has a 2012 ZL1, both have had their Window Seals pulling out. They are going to drop theirs off at the dealership next week awaiting new seals as well. We live in Las Vegas by the way.
I dropped my car off Wednesday to get the seal replaced, suppose to be ready Friday. My Service Manager has said they have gotten quite a few calls in the past week for the seals coming out. Only side effect I noticed for driving almost 2 weeks with it coming out was a high whistling sound at highway speeds. Kinda like a window was cracked but coming from in front of me. |
:confused0068: That's crazy that it just worked it's way up like that. Definitely something ppl need to keep an eye out for. Sorry this happened to your car though. I will be on the watch for mine, just in case.

Well, it took 2 years in the Vegas heat for it to start pulling out, so guess thats somewhat of a good thing.....somewhat.
Seems my car started to get alot of little problems when it hit its 2 year mark. Service just called me earlier and stated might have to replace my driver seat cover because the TSB on fixing it isn't working. |
