got whipped. the guy was cool he was stock and both were a6. i have a 2014 l99 btw. i actually couldnt believe how fast those coyotes are! but I'm not one of the fanboys who cant seem to accept a 5.0 is considerably faster stock than a l99. overall beautiful car and it was fun! just out of curiosity what mods will put me neck to neck with a stock 5.0?

Headers, cats, intake and tune should do it.

or a challenger 392 srt8 which would completely blow the doors off a 5.0 and all of the 5.0 owners know it.

between the 5.0 and challenger yes there is but between most folks' SS's and challenger 392 not that big of a gap if any.

An SRT8 Challenger similarly equipped as my SS would cost between $45-50! The Challenger is the most expensive of the pony cars (not counting the GT500 or ZL1). It also weighs as much as a box truck.

how did we go from stock vs stock to Boxtruck vs ZL1's? These threads on challenges go to hell real quick.

Definitely headers and a tune will wake up the SS a lot.

:sorry: When misinformation presents itself, facts need to be administered. Personally, I think an LS3 vs. a 5.0 is a driver's race. I think the OP's L99 is what did him in. An exhaust, intake and tune would help him out. Good luck! :)

I have owned both and will kindly disagree. Take the drag start out of the equation and the 5.0 will pull away every time. If you want to add the drag start well then its on the driver. I can take out a z06 with an idiot behind the wheel. Put competent drivers in both and the 5.0 will pull again.

An exhaust will make no difference on the SS.

Reread my comment: An exhaust, intake and tune (a combination of all three).

My point is the result will pretty much be the same regardless of the exhaust. And most would say a tune is pointless (to lose your warranty) for just a CAI (exhaust).

Eh, it's a subjective argument. I know a catback won't gain much, but the weight alone will surely help. Hell, when I dropped my "suitcase mufflers", those things weighed a ton. :bellyroll:

30HP and 300lbs will do that;)

I would still rather have my fat slow Camaro:)
