If you ordered a manual V6...

Hey guys, hust wanted to make a thread for those who might not know. If you have ordered a V6 and have been given a TPW, then you might want to recheck if you havent done soo already. TPWs for V6 Manuals, have been pushed back again to May 18th. This is due to the clutch pressure plate, 2nd gear syncro and something else that i cant remember. Anyways they are awaiting the new spec parts, and well, several of us have had the unforunate discovery of having our TPWs pushed back, yet again.
Just wanted to fill you guys in...im off now to go and cry, til June, then i will have a Perma-grin and know that it was worth the wait :chevy:

It's my understanding that the Canada customer service reps are giving you TPWs. This is not the case for their US counterparts. There's nothing to check here. Even the DBC won't give dealers updated TPWs.

the customer service number is getting TPW's thats if they are nice at that moment, some just brush you off.

Well my dealer has given me my TPW(s), GM Canada told me " Mid April to Mid may for build"
Wow, so no more TPWs for youg guys, i guess thats better since they are not really reliable anyways

My TPW is printed on each update of Work Bench in Canada.

Definitely not here. I guess they aren't allowed to export confidential info like TPWs lol.

OK, now that these smilies have thrown a tantrum for me, thanks for the info. I saw some oblique references to this in a few other threads but was having trouble finding anything definite.

My car went to 3000 on 4/15, dealer wasn't given a TPW. He checked again today - still no change. Guess this is why. My dealer keeps thinking I'll get my car in late May but this doesn't sound good. :( What really sucks is I'm going to China in late June, with my luck it'll come in while I'm there. So the dilemma: do I let it sit at the dealership for possibly two weeks, or do I let my husband go get it, and hope there's still tread on the tires when I get home? :mad0260:

Don't get me wrong, I've killed enough clutches that I definitely want the stronger clutch plate!

I went to 3000 on 17Mar and was given a "tentative" TPW on Thursday of 18 May. I was also given the disclaimer "but the factory is two weeks behind" so I don't have a warm fuzzy about 18 May. Kinda in the same boat...heading to the Middle East during the summer. Just want to have the opportunity to drive before I leave.:mad0260:

Contacted my sales manager yesterday and he knew nothing about the delay. He said as far as he knew I was going to be built next week. He contacted me again later in the day and said he's talked to several dealerships and none had heard of this.

Dealers are not told why there is a delay or " pushed back TPW".
They just do not get the car.

Half those " dealers" probably don't know what an event code is.

Where is the proof of this delay on transmissions? I've not seen anyone of authority from GM chime in and validate this. I've not even seen the other dealers that post here add a comment. I was notified on April 10th that my TPW is 4/27, so I also don't understand the references to US dealers not getting updated TPW's.

We also never got official confirmation about the BCM problems but that doesn't change the fact that the first 1700 Camaros we delayed on their delivery aside from #1 and #2.

You'll wait till hell freezes over for GM to " validate " a problem that prevents cars from being assembled.

They have not been able to shake loose the idea that some how in the instant information times we now live in that they can keep problems under wraps like they did in all the previous decades.

They will fix it, they just are still in a mind set that we are not suppose to know there was ever a problem.

Everybody wants their new Camaro ASAP, including me. Mine (vin #117) is sitting out there somewhere right now collecting dust (hopefully no bird crap), just be glad they're fixing the problems before releasing / building our cars.
