Having the grill match the body color is a little too much for my taste. I'd love to see one of those heritage grills in chrome on my black 2SS/RS.

I e-mailed my bro-in-law over in England a picture of the 2010 Camaro pacer, then called him. His immediate response on the phone when he opened the e-mail was "Bloody hell, those American racers look nice don't they?" I responded that a lot of Camaro owners were upset at the "Shelby stripes". He laughed and said, "Shelby? No, no, no. Tell them Shelby copied them. That should get their motors running". These stripes may have become linked with Shelby, but yes... credit where credit is due. Cunningham came up with an awesome idea. They're gorgeous, especially if edged with pin stripes. |

Think that 69 Emblem would work? :iono: |

...Overall, ...I think it looks great :)
Orange w/white vs. White w/orange (heck, ...I'd go for White w/Blue, ...since I have a soft spot for '67 pacers ;) ) However, ...I think Orange w/white was an excellent choice. I love the stiching in the seats, ...and the dash stripe looks great. IF, ...I was able to change things: Stripes: 'wrapping' the car is fine, ...but I'd space them apart a bit more. (I know this is somewhat driven by the car's 'lines') Wheels: Those wheels off the white SEMA car, ... Graphics: I do like the idea that has been mentioned, "Official Pace Car" would look good on the doors. (How much of this is decided by Indy? ...not GM) Hey, ...I'm just glad, ...the Camaro IS the Pace Car  |
Saw the pics and thought I was in the FAIL thread. I like the idea of bringing the stripes inside but hate the "mustang, shelby cunningham" stripes on this car. Since they were suggesting several other stripe package options why not showcase one of them? IMHO FAIL Cudo's to King Mouse though for having his stripe colors copied for the pace car.

I like the color and the stripes. But, I really prefer the stock grille.

As to the '71 Challenger that was a bit of an anomoly. Normally the program was done with full corporate support from the manufacturer. Chrysler had no interest in doing so, so that year all the central Indiana Dodge dealers got together and convinced the Speedway to let them provide the vehicles. As the video shows it did not end well. Since then they've only allowed sponsorship with full corporate support. |
FYI
Here is a list of all the Indy Pace cars and their drivers

As a third-genner, every time someone says "heritage grill" I think of this:
The 1992 Heritage Edition Camaros had that grill, matching the body color. |
I am going to miss this event. Please post lots of pictures!

Here is the latest iteration of the Camaro Pace Car Series supporting an important cause, Pedderised of course.
