PICS: My "one-off" 3D vinyl transformation on my 1LE
FOLLOW THE STORY WITH THE PICS AS YOU SCROLL:
So.....due to something out of my control....I had to remove my OEM vinyl wrap. I love the look of the OEM matte black vinyl on white: http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l45/relkcib/BO3.jpg But it needed more, so......I added THESE within weeks of delivery(from Roger @ emblempros.com): http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps824378c4.jpg That brings us to the issue that required the vinyl removal.....SO removal of said badges and OEM vinyl: http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps8f6c0039.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps120902bb.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps6a6b357d.jpg ...to get a fresh canvas: http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps58904df0.jpg After a couple days of thought I came up with an idea and ran with it....here is the process and final result: Used my template: http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps4d4097fe.jpg Sketched in a location and size to keep proportions of the "1LE": http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps7d7bcf15.jpg Taped in place for installer and laid down the "1LE": http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps27e8b05c.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...psaf522f2f.jpg This is the FIRST part of the final product: (keep scrolling though...theres MORE) http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...psea3cb5bf.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps88a0a895.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps8e1b537d.jpg That wasn't enough....THIS was my final vision: Satin vinyl OVER the "1LE" lettering to leave just a subtle hint on the hood: http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps1c16a9e7.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...psc04d6a9e.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps661b149b.jpg Then completed trimming for a final look: http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...pscbe79f3e.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps4ce7d4bd.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...ps8bf6510c.jpg More pics added per PM requests: Another look at the Satin vinly over the lettering: http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...psd13988bd.jpg Close up of lettering height: http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...psa8f14681.jpg Difference between matte and satin vinyls: (removed OEM balled up LOL) - you can see the satin has a mild gloss to it: http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...psa5050356.jpg |
