The "problem" is, a "replacement" grille is NOT available...and all the billet versions are "overlays"...

A replacement is required because the grille is a structural part of the nose...it holds the top and bottom in place. A replacement is a much more complex and expensive piece to develop than an overlay.

If "others" had known GM and it's supplier were going to take a year and a half to bring the "Heritage" grille to market, it would have been done long ago by someone else. It was an "instant success" @ SEMA '08, after being "prototyped" and is STILL not on the shelf, 15 months later...

Standard development time, from "digital scan" to a "finished saleable product", is less than 120 days...

Could you do these to look like the original SS/RS emblem? Chrome (or polished billet) with the red insert:thumbsup:

So does this mean I won't get my grill until after Feb 1, 2010? :mad0260:

no it means that 14th date is pretty solid. that means they most likely wont move it again if they plan on meeting that deadline. its also good cause that means the subwoofer upgrade, gauge pack, and the intake is finally coming too.

I've been quietly following this and can't wait to get the "Escalade" grill off the Camaro.

So where is a good place to order this other than GMpartsdirect? It seems they will not ship to me due to different billing and delivery address.
