Just purchased and had the XLLT installed by someone. Is it possible to install the J pipes at two different lengths or is the initial install a default fit? If I wanted to change the length to get a different exhaust note, how is this done? What happens to the exhaust note as you adjust the J Pipe?

The J pipes are to eliminate drone, not change the exhaust note. They can not be different lengths or the sound will be really bad...it makes a huge difference. We preset them for you, and will only need adjusting if after the 1000 mile break-in period, you add another mod and it causes unnecessary noise. Until then, don't adjust it unless you just want to play with it, but make sure to mark the stock position that we set it at.

So the J pipes are fixed in position at the factory correct? If that is so how do I adjust them? I am at a disadvantage because I did not install it. Need to understand how it works.

Thanks

We preset them at a certain length using the upper band clamp (closest to cap on J). The adjust, loosen that upper clamp and slide it in or out like a trombone, and then re-tighten clamp. The J pipes must be the same on both sides.

Any chance I could still get the new release price on the Borla Cat-back system? **Crosses fingers**...:D

This is a SOLO exhaust thread...I think Borla might be in another separate thread:)

OK i see that it's 899 shipped, but what about pick-up or installed by you guys? I live in the Northern VA area. Where is the shop located so I can come down this week?

kjohn9815 09-04-2011 11:51 PM

kjohn9815 09-05-2011 01:51 AM

omg it's an 8 hour drive, maybe i'll get it sent down and attepmt to install it myself

GOINGSOLO2 09-05-2011 12:04 PM

It's 100% bolt on, so if you are decent with tools and can get the car in the air, it's worth trying yourself. Any shop can do it in 45 minutes or less.
