Camaros taking over Bowling Green Corvette Museum! October to December

Seems they're making some room for us in Bowling Green! At least from October to December. :)

From The National Corvette Musuem homepage...

Camaro Exhibit and Event Coming Soon!
Beginning in October, Corvettes won't be the only speed demons in the Museum. A display of 12 Camaros will take over the Exhibit Hall through December, bringing celebrity-owned cars, supped up rides and overall cool Mustang-eaters for visitors to check out. Check out the list of display cars here.

2009 Bumblebee
Papa John's Camaro
Dale Earnhart Hall of Fame Camaro
...and more coming!

garcmol 09-15-2010 02:47 PM

I got a Corvette about 3 weeks ago and the wife and I want to go to the plant and museum (they're across the street from each other). Was checking out the museum page and saw this announcement. Thought it would be cool.

pincoin 09-15-2010 02:57 PM

I'd like to see that!

khabboub 09-16-2010 12:16 AM

i went to the museum once in 2004 when the C6 was JUST released. it was really cool.

Iomcamaro 09-16-2010 12:24 AM

Looks like I'm making a road trip over fall break lol. Luckily I only live about 3 and a half hours away and I got family that lives down there that I can visit.
Thanks for the info

Figures this would happen when I'm deployed. It's only about an hour from Ft. Campbell and I've been there twice now. Both times were great. If anyone is military they pretty much just hand you the tickets for free. This place is a great place to go. If anyone can make it, definitely put it on your calendar. I wont be back until December so if anyone can post up some pics I would greatly appreciate it.

I thought it would be closer to 2 hours from Ft. Campbell. That's how far it is from KY Dam with all interstate driving to Bowling Green.

However, I plan on going down to BG sometime this fall. I too will try to get a lot of pictures. I have already seen the Papa John's Camaro up close a couple of times when I met Papa John himself.

camarolt76 09-16-2010 11:13 AM

I will be in Lexington Kentucky for Christmas break so it looks like one of my days is already reserved for a trip to Bowling Green!:chevy:

I've been to the Corvette Museum before but it was 9 or 10 years ago. It was really nice then and I am sure it is even better now.

The display runs thru December so you should be able to check it out when you return.

Definitely going to this! Just an hour and a half down the road!

IROCanSS 09-17-2010 10:32 PM

the plant tour is awesome but watch the schedule. With Corvettes being "limited" production, the line is a Mon-Fri gig. Also, its goes on shutdown a lot. Just plan ahead. I made reservations when I went and had a blast! Tour the plant and Museum. I went when I was a member of the darkside. Drove our 2007 down then went to Nashville. Good times!

vwilson686 09-19-2010 10:33 PM

I see a road trip in my future. I think it is around 2 hours from Nashville.

ylogen5 09-20-2010 08:32 AM

Rocket City Camaro Club out of Huntsville Al will be making the trip to the event. If anyone in the area or anyone heading up I65 through Alabama that would like to join our group and caravan up drop me a line and I will give the details.

We are thinking of making it a weekend event. we are talking about heading up to Nashville Friday night on 22, leave out from Nashville which will make it an hour and half drive to Bowling Green. Then After the event haed back to Nashville and party the night away on 2nd ave have dinner and bar hopping. We are open to suggestions and willing to work around schedules.

garcmol 10-12-2010 09:16 AM

Unfortunately, the 23 October autocross has been cancelled due to conflicts with the track.

From NCM:

This event has been cancelled due to a conflicting event at Beech Bend Raceway and unavailability of the autocross site. We apologize for the inconvenience and all pre-registered participants will receive full refunds. The special Camaro Exhibit will be here at the Museum until the end of December, and Bumblebee will be on display October 19-27.
