This weekend my wife and I went to look (just look) at a Black 2008 Chevrolet HHR SS at a local dealer, Gus Paulos Chevrolet. Needless to say, it's now parked in my garage. it's a bitchin' little hot rod, the wife had to have it. I'm ashamed to say, it has got quicker 0-60 and quarter mile times than my 2002 Monte Carlo SS. :cry: Anyway, our sales rep told me that he has been told that they will begin to take orders for the Camaro this fall, but they don't expect to see any actual Camaros until March/April of 2009. He added me to his "list" and said he would call when we could place an order but he could not take any money or deposit at this time.

Wow, thats actually pretty accurate to what we can realistically expect. Nice.

Most informed dealer we've heard of. Maybe he reads these boards?

Finally a Dealership who knows what they should be saying.

I told the dealer in this area (Fitzgerald auto mall) that I was disapointed in the engine for the V-6 that will be coming out and he told me to wait that I could get my wish after the first flood of people who want the camaro take what is available first. He seemed to think that if I waited I will get what I wanted. Darn, I really wanted that CTS LS3 with the injection to be the first out. Now I have to be patient? I don't know if I can hold myself any longer.

Your dealer is saying V6's will be out first. Didn't someone from GM just say a lot of higher end Camaro's would be built first? We really don't konw until official announcement.

CTS LS3? By that, do you mean the Cadillac CTS? Because I don't recall the LS3 going into that car. I recall it being the DI 304hp V6....which...this engine makes you dissapointed for the V6 Camaro?

The V6 engine in the Camaro won't be anything to scoff at. After all, the Caddies V6 is DI, can get'cha 304hp, will get great gas mileage, and is an engine that is being used on one of GM's top of the line vehicles.....the Cadillac. I mean, there's (IMO) absolutely NOTHING wrong with that engine. How could you be dissapointed in that???

Let's wait to see what's offered for the V8. I never promised that it would be the LS3. I believe in my heart that the LS3 will be an option for the Camaro...whether baseline or higher end. That's just MY .02 cents....

Don't worry....either way, you WILL get what you want...patience...patience....;)

If the V6 DI is what they were going to be putting out, that would be great! Yes that is what you told me before but now I understand that they are putting in an engine that is not a DI. I would love for it to be the cady DI engine also. So I will not be disapointed in that, if that is what we were getting. My understanding is that they are putting in an engine that will only get 260hp. If my buddy Nate is wrong then I will talk with him on it but he says the base engine will be the CTS without the DI for the first Camaro out. Also, is that a Freudian slip spelling patience with an extra T(patientce) your not trying to get me committed are you?:wub:

I have a feeling that you're going to see a DI V6 in the Camaro... and remember, the turbo4 that was talked about as a "possibility" for the Camaro is 260hp, so why would you offer a V6 in a rwd car that is no more powerful than a turbo4 that is in your Cobalt and HHR, which are fwd? logic says that a slightly detuned or dead on crossover of the Caddy DI V6 is more likely than the non-DI V6 that is being offered elsewhere... and I believe it was the Fbodfather himself that once said, "I think alot of people are going to be very happy with the engine choices in the Camaro... especially the V6"

I just realized something. I didn't know the cobalt was a front wheel drive. UGH! I did a 360 in one a couple of months ago and was so mad at the stupid car well duh, I drove it wrong if it was a front wheel drive! No wonder I spun around. BTW I don't have any tequila but I think I am going to hit the new bottle of Absolute when I get home. Dang I wish it was Vox, but the Absolute was on sale.

Drinkin Absolute is like Drinkin skyy vodka. both are horrid.
