Plasti Dip Questions

Thinking about Plasti Dipping my rims. Can someone tell me about it. Where can I buy some black Plasti Dip for a good price? Is it hard to remove? How to install? Ect. Let me know :) Thanks in advance.

True, but i'd rather get the info from people who have done this on their Camaros. Then I could ask them questions too.

I don't understand why some people take offense to stuff that's been asked a lot.

OP, I plasti-dipped mine not long ago.

I bought 5 cans from Home Depot, Lowe's has it too. It's like 5.98 a can.

I took my wheels off to do it and took my time. It's extremely easy to apply. I drove it for a few weeks with it on there, it took about 30 minutes total to remove. Though, the thicker you apply, the easier it is to remove. Basically you clean your wheel, spray a light coat, wait a bit for it to dry, rinse and repeat, adding a little more each time. 4-5 coats will do the trick.

My bowties and tail light bezels are plasti-dipped now and I'm thinking about doing it to the rims again. I highly recommend it!

I dipped my rims yesterday, took about 3-4 hours for me.

did mine about a month ago, i really like the way they look now. but take the wheels off and do the inside of the wheels also, otherwise it looks half ass imo. next is to paint the calipers
i blacked out my bowties with vinyl, but im going to go back and plasti dip them also.

I did mine right before camaro fest last year and just took it off last weekend.

I used a pressure washer to get it off and that made it hella easy then I just had to come back with some goof off and clean up the nooks and crannies.

Probably took me about 1.5 hours total with getting everything out and putting it up.

With that being said, I don't think I'm going to dip my wheels again. It wasn't durable enough for me it had a few peeled areas a month after I applied it but I just left it on.

Gotta be careful with the pressure washer though...I stripped off some of the paint on my MS rims. But thankfully it was on the rims that I had already curb rashed so I don't care.

I did mine 2 weeks ago. Took me about 4 hours to do. I left the wheels on the car and covered up the disk brakes with trash bags. I also covered up the lug nuts with newspaper.

Or just get caliper covers.

Diped mine about a month ago, and of course rim #4 looks way better than rim #1 - so probably going to re do them all. (practice make perfect right?)

i would definately plan on powder coating them if its a look you decide you like. something else you can do is put tire shine on the plasti dip and it gives it a little gloss. i use zainos its the best i have found. i also didnt do the inside of mine and i dont even notice it

Yeah it's not like anybody is gonna look in the back of your rims to see if they're black. Lol
