Question: How do I track my car on the railroad?
Answer: First and most important. Do not ever try to or talk to live personnel at the railroad or trucking companies We are being provide with this information from GM to use on automated tracking systems. If we go beyond the parameters and press the buttons to talk to a live body, they will notify GM and all our data updates regarding shipping will end. We have just recently been warned as several members contacted a trucking company to see when delivery was going to be. Don' do it as everyone else would suffer the concequeses behind you.
Automated phone tracking numbers:
CSX 1-800-235-2352
Union Pacific 1 800 877 5123
Follow the phone prompts but do not speak to live personnel.

If you could share your rail car number it would be easier to help you, but since you live in NC, you should be delivered by CSX. Therefore:

Step 1: Call CSX at 1-800-235-2352.

Step 2: When they ask you what type of info you want, you need LOCATION. To get this without having to try to get them to recognize your speech, just hit the '1' key.

Step 3: They ask you for the car "initials". I'm assuming the first four letters in your train car number are 'ETTX', since that's what most people's I've seen are. If this is the case then type the following numbers in order and then STOP for the next set of instructions: 3-2-8-1-8-1-9-2

Step 4: They ask you for the "car number" or "car ID" or something. It's the next thing they ask you for. This will be the remaining numbers on your train car. After you type the remaining numbers in, hit the "#" key on your phone twice.

Step 5: Wait for them to retrieve your info and it will return your location and the time it either got there or left there.

OK, apparently I'm in the same boat as Camaromom3. I have a rail car # CNA 704233, but all the phone #s I've tried don't list any information. Camaro Tracking was updated 8/18. Can anybody tell me where it currently is?
