My Anodized Blue Camaro [COTW 12/24/12]
17 Attachment(s)
Hi!
During the summer, I finally made my dream come true and bought a 2011 Black Camaro Supercharged 2SS/RS. This car is damn fast and since I am from Germany, you can have a lot of fun at the Autobahn :chevy: However, I wanted to change the look of the car quite a lot. I thought about some nice bodykits, but the lack of parking space and the small bumpy roads in Germany made me thinking twice about it. While I was at Schwabenfolia (a german car-wrapping company), I saw all these nice colors. Sandro, the owner of the company, smiled as he saw my camaro and we giggled about wrapping the car. He gave me a little piece of car-wrap and told me, this color is completely new. What I was looking at was Anodized Blue. I went out to see the color changing in the sun, it was just spectacular. It is a kind of matte metallic wrap, hard to describe. I told him to think about it and went back home. The day after, I opened Photoshop and started working on a reference. Just plain blue would not made me satisfied. I also saw some Black Brushed wrap which looked great too and to support the strong lines of the Camaro, I wanted to have a white line too. So from a Matte Black Camaro I found via google, I made this reference: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837624 I mailed this to Schwabenfolia and we had a talk about it on the phone, if it is possible to do. Some of my friends had their cars wrapped in the past, so I was sure Schwabenfolia will deliver quality work. So lets start with some pictures: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837571 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837571 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837571 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837571 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837571 The color looks so nice in reality, itīs actually hard to photograph. I am very happy with the result and I never saw so much head-turning feedback  Here are some more pictures: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837412 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837624 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837624 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837624 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837571 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837571 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837571 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837571 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837571 Yannik Holler and Schwabenfolia also did a professional photoshooting. Here are 2 Title Pictures from the shooting. More pictures are coming soon around christmas  http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837624 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1355837624 So whats next? Well, it would be great to get some nice black rims one day. I thought about painting them. Other than this - I am just --> Have a nice X-Mas! Dez |

Gruss Got,
Dieses Auto schaut! ausgezeichnet! Sie weckten zweifellos einen schlafenden Riesen auf! Sehr nette Farbe! Wo in Deutschland sind Sie? WOW! Many are going to want to follow that! |
what an amazing looking color man, congratz, digging the color.
|
I love that. What a sexy beast!
|
Thank you.
Well, if someone "crashes" onto the wrap it is the same as with paint - you get scratches. Same with stones - I have some small scratches on the front bumper but I would have them with paint too. The main problem is that people walking by often want to "feel" the wrap - to see if it is paint or wrap. Good sign for the quality Schwabenfolia did, but sad for me since the nails of these people cause scratches. :( |

Very cool!!!
and does the wrap hold moisture or cause any damage to the clearcoat or paint after on for an extended time? black rims would be very nice! |
Love the car! Looks great! Thanks for sharing the great pics. I bet you get lots of stares from everyone there. One of these days I want to return to Germany & spend some real quality time. (I spent a year there but did not get to see or do very much then). In what part of the country do you live? My husband is German (well half German). His family is from a small town close to France. I was in Ulm & got to visit my sister for a while before I left, she was in Bamburg.
|
How did you manage to get a Camaro without side mirrors the size of wheelbarrows? :iono: Every overseas model I've seen, has those gigantic monstrosities hanging off the doors. BTW, the wrap looks GREAT!
|
me likey!
|
How much??? I really like that..

@ DRKS1D3
It is an Import from the US :) @RubyCamaro Near Stuttgart. Ulm is like an hour away. It's all in the south of Germany @brl45th So far no problems. I don't drive the car in the winter but some friends, who also wrapped their cars, drive them through the whole year. All fine. You can say, all the dirt you have to clean up on normal paint is the same with wrap. But you can't drive in an automatic car wash. Cleaning by yourself is fine. If you remove the wrap, the paint stays on the car of course. At least on the german and japanese cars I have seen. So let's hope GM didn't use the cheapest paint ;) But like said - the paint will not be damaged. @DarkneZZ There are ways using a strong heated blowdryer. If the scratches are deeper, you have to live with it. But thats the same as with paint. Or you get it fixed, which means re-wrapping. |
That is awesome! I love the new look of the car! Throw some new wheels on there and that thing will be over the top!
|
That is amazingly beautiful!
|
Wow that just looks awesome! Congrats on the buy and nice job on the color!
|
Awesome....love how you did the center and roof in matte black too! Love the blue!
|
That is so ugly!! NOT! :sm0: Very cool looking.
I love it. It makes me want to wrap my car. Great looking mod.:respekt: BTW I have to ask. Was this picture staged. A Pantera, and a 65/66 mustang in the same lot as your car. If not staged was it a car show or do you work with people that drive cool cars. I always wanted a Pantera.... :headbang: Quote:
