T/A Hood Vents in Sail Panel
T/A Hood Vents in Sail Panel
Its not finished, just enough for a few pics. #1 purpose to provide some cross breeze, 2 windows down isn't enough, even on a cool sunny day you roast like in a over as air just wont come in. Only got the left side done, was a chore but test ride noticed much more air coming in the car. Rain or water isn't an issue, its will be all sealed off in between the body panels with 2in foam n body caulk, boxed off, will also keep the 6x9 mounted just below on the inside from playing to loud outside ;) http://thirdgenchat.org/vent4.jpg http://thirdgenchat.org/TAvent1a.jpg |
Shouldn't the gills face forward, so you can get some airflow?
|
no, they are meant to let air out, so air can come in the windows.
Its easy to test in a 4 window car, just put down the 2 fronts, then just crack the rears, the air can then flow in and out better. I only want air to flow out of those vents. Gonna install a thin rubber flap to stop back flow soon as I find some. |
Oh my.

Your on my ignore list 02 WS6 TA so don't bother talking to me.

That guy needs to get a job at Giant Eagle, I heard they were looking for a couple of butchers.
|
They do look good there, I would have put them with the wide side down and the smaller side up to flow with the panel better. It looks mean, like something out of Mad Max movie, nice!
|
Ha! Nice! Ironic cause i was gonna do a Mad Max style thing to my bro's 88' Firebird which has just been sitting in my dad's garage for 5 years, had the idea for the notch back and the flat black and pretty much the same rims, this is pretty much what i was aiming for, although in those pics itd only be about half done, id make it out with a lot more "death race" style stuff and id customize the interior, lots of aftermarket, lots of home-made, im hoping to get started soon ;-)
PS: where did you get the notchback? was it completely custom? or did you order it and then add a few after-touches? I love how slowely it slopes down to the tail thats exactly what i wanted, i dont like the notchbacks that just end abruptlyright before the rear wheel |
They're Bass/Ackwards.......
