A friend of mine had the same problem. Had to replace the entire handle mechanism. The service tech said it was caused by not putting the handle back in the flush position when lowering the roof. It bends the handle as the roof folds down.

Dang, I have the same issue. It was like that when I bought the car (CPO) so I thought it was normal.

And the boyfriend accuses me of being a little neurotic.....ALWAYS put handle in right position....now him????...I answer NO....but then his car (the Stang) has 2 handles to contend with.
The Camaro is DEF my favorite child!!!!

I have the same issue - hopefully don't need to replace the entire latching mechanism! Still seems to secure fine but annoying that it doesn't sit flush...

Hmmm ... most times don't put my handle flush when lowering the roof, but haven't had any problems in almost 6 years. Probably should start doing that just in case, but won't need to now until April!

Thanks on the handle tip guys, no problem in last year & a half, but will make it flush with header moving forward.

Just had this exact same issue on my '11. The plastic cup shaped piece above the handle isn't seated properly. It takes some messing with it & be careful because there are 2 small tabs on the front of it that can break off easily but once you re-seat it PERFECTLY it will sit flush again. Pretty crappy design in my opinion but be patient & it's pretty easy to fix. DON'T FORCE IT. Good luck!
