FOG LIGHTS ON RS

This may sound stupid. but I got mine (YEA) its a 2SS/RS so it has the HID head lights I also have fog lights as they all do in this model. Does any one know how to turn on the fog lights ? LOL I am serious I read the manuel and called chevy it says the HID head lights with the DRL halo lights replace the fog lights but I have fog lights there's bulbs in those lights they must be functioning? Any help any one know how to turn them on.

Thanks

There are no foglights on RS cars, those are daytime driving lights. If you had fogs and the HIDS on you would blind on coming cars.

That's a misconception, if the fog lights were on at the same time as the HID headlights, you wouldn't "blind" oncoming traffic. The fog lights don't turn on when the HID headlights are on because the two lights "burn" at two different intensities, and therefore produce two different colors of light, which when shown at the same time, just looks ugly. This is the only reason they don't both come on at the same time.

In the future I'm sure someone will come up with a kit that lets you switch on the fogs while the HID headlights are on. However, if you do this, I would recommend also purchasing a kit to convert the fog lights to the same or similar light intensity as the HID headlights so that they look good together.

The DRL's will stay on with the halo's right?

I think once you turn on the halos, the DRL's turn off, because the lighting is no longer in "Auto" mode. Someone will have to confirm this, though.

When to your auto mode the so called "fog lights" are on during the day. when you move it over it turns on the halo's and the "fog lights" turn off. move it over one more time the halo's and the headlights turn on.

Fogs are day time driving lights only can not turn them on with the halo headlights. Already tried it. And I do not even know how to start a thread all I ever do is reply? lol

Plus keep in mind the HIDs are so good you won't miss fog lamps. The Camaro HIDs are the best driving lights I've experienced.

I kinda wish the RS Fog/daytime runners were amber.

Thats easily fixable. For whatever size they are i'm sure you can find them in amber or I know of people who have bought an amber tint to put over the outer lens of the light.

Fog lights wouldn't be needed with the HIDs, but even if they put HIDs in the fog lamps they wouldn't blind people, they are aimed closer to the ground than regular headlights
