Do dealerships work with SLP?
Hope this is the correct forum category...
I haven't asked my dealer about this yet, I was waiting until I get a VIN and I go in to take care of payment and paperwork, etc. Does anyone know if the dealerships deal directly with SLP? I wasn't sure of the relationship between the two companies. Is SLP a subsidiary of GM? If not, are they officially licensed products? Basically, I wanted to have the dealer order the SLP LoudMouth II exhaust and install it for me prior to picking up the car, but I wanted to see if anyone knew if dealerships can even do this. If this is possible, does anyone recommend against this route? If so, why? Thanks for any info. |
Dealerships can do anything pretty much, but usually it won't be included in the deal due to liability issues. If you pay it seperate I don't see why they wouldn't

Update...
I called my dealer and after checking with his parts manager, he said the only exhaust that would be covered under warranty is the one by GMPP (built by Borla), and thus the only one they will install. Don't know if that's common to other dealerships or not, but thought I'd let everyone know. |
SLP
Yes the dealers deal with SLP I had my rear resinators cut off and had SLP ship direct to my dealer where they installed the new exhaust pipes now not only does it look killer it sounds killer. Couldnt deal with my wifes 06 GMC Denali being louder then my new ss2 thanks hd48

Just remember, if you do have the dealership install, and if they would, the warranty for the exhaust becomes void. The rest of your warranty remains intact but if its determined that whatever problem is arising from aftermarket exhaust then you will have to pay and the warranty is not valid.
