Radio - Panasonic... not Delphi? Interesting....

levi1922 04-20-2009 07:50 AM

is the premium sound system still made by panasonic?
or does boston do anything to it, or are they just the speakers?
i am still disappointed that it will not have bose.
my car has bose, its amazinggg!

also, it says brembo for the rear brakes, but its a V6,
is that saying brembo is possible, or are they just a weaker version brembo brakes?

CDBiker220 04-20-2009 09:11 AM

Honestly bose car stereo is not that good, atleast as far as many car audio nuts are concerned. They are more of a home stereo company, boston acoustics is one of the best of the best in the aftermarket community atleast, much more highly regarded compared to bose.

Haha wow that's really cool to see. Thanks for the diagram!!! :)

Thanks will add it to my collection.

rolnslo 04-20-2009 10:37 AM

That's cool!

This should be sent to all the naysayers that seem to think letting GM fail won't have a ripple effect on the other manufacturers and the economy.

Emjay 04-20-2009 10:45 AM

Woo hoo thats frikeen awesome to see thnx

Vash 04-20-2009 10:45 AM

RyanSSaddict 04-20-2009 10:11 PM

This shows that if GM goes down the drain, a lot of other companies will go down too. But it doesn't matter what the American people think, it's what congress thinks.

tsg1391 04-20-2009 10:26 PM

is there a us content % somewhere?

I saw that 2. Has anyone reported having A HUD? or Is this the plan for the next model year?

Captain Awesome 04-20-2009 10:51 PM

I heard that it is just being delayed till the 2011 Models.

Emher 04-21-2009 04:43 AM

Nice! Panasonic makes the radio! Very good nes as far as I'm concerned, at least in regards to longevity and quality. Every Panasonic electronic gadget that I've had over the years have been great, and in fact that Panasonic television that mom and dad bought when my sis was born in 1986 functioned perfectly until 2007 when the picture tube started acting weird. Prior to that, perfect function.

SNOOK 04-21-2009 07:30 AM

This is the point I was going to make. GM is at the hub of a vast network of suppliers, dealers, service ppl, consumers and yes, the men and women that work on the line assembling these products.

Is GM too big to fail? No of course not, as we have seen in recent months.

Should we let it fail? No again because it's just not workers on the line - but literally millions of other people whose very livelihood depend on the viability of this company.

So what do we do? We fight to save it of course. GM is in a jam right now not of there own doing, but because of mismanagement in the financial sector. They are like the guy who has slipped into the water and needs a lifeline to get back on his feet. Do we laugh at the poor sot in the water and throw stones at him as his head goes under? Of course not. We bring him back to shore, give him a towel, a bowl of soup and help him recover.

Given half a chance GM will get through this as will the American economy.

Call your Congressman, your Representative, Hell, call your Mayor and tell them that anything worth saving is worth fighting for.

'It's the economy, stupid' Bill Clinton, 1992

I believe this diagram is a few years old and is not for the PRODUCTION CAMARO.

Not only does it show HUD ... but it lists "Quarter Window Regulators (Coupe)" and drawing is of a HARDTOP without a "B" pillar as the CONCEPT car was built.

Agreed. This lists 53 vendors out of the (I'm sure) 100's. For example, Martinrea is making the entire front and rear suspension assemblies - not just the brake lines. A complete listing would fill a 4x6 wall chart I'm sure. Still interesting though.

Captain Awesome 04-21-2009 11:16 AM

I tried to find anything from the company that makes the HUD. There's a little info out there on them but I couldn't find anything about the HUD or the Camaro specifically. They are pretty good about keeping the good info out of their press releases and whatnot.

I did see they are considered a competitor to Delphi. Doesn't Delphi make the HUD in the Vette?
