Spray Gun Recommendations
Guys,
I'm looking for a Paint gun to use for casual touch-up and the occasional panel painting. I've not been keeping pace on the technology here. The last gun I bought was a long time ago. These gravity feed guns seem to be the new way, I'd like to know if I should go this way or that. I've been doing some touch up with the air brush, but I need a better gun for larger objects. So, Are the any recommendations on the type and models that I should look at? Thanks, Dave |
Dave, I'm no where near an expert, but IMO it really just depends on home much work you plan on doing with it. If this is something you're going to use a few times a week then I'd look at getting a very good quality gun. Maybe a SATA or the like. But if this is something that your going to use occasionally you might want to go with a knockoff gun. I use mine a few times a year and couldn't justify the cost of a SATA. I got a kit from spraygunworld.com a few years back and the guns that came in the kit work great. A buddy of mine who is a pro painter, painted with my gun and said it was decent for what I paid for it.

I have been painting cars in my business for almost 25 years, and all of my spray equipment is made by SATA.
