mastmotorsports cam and springs Q's

I just recently bought a stage 2 track package from mastmotorsports.com wich includes a new cam, Duration@ .050 225/231
Lift 602/607, and nitrided valve springs. now i have heard alot of good things from them, but my questions are. Has anyone bought this package before and what they think about it? And i have seen ALOT of people with dual valve springs and does anyone thinks it would be a better investment instead of the ones that it comes with? Im looking at more quality here so speak your mind.

Not too sure, but just read this post on mast and a spring incident... This is in NO way a shot at Mast:respekt: just an interesting read on a spring incident. BTW, the guy in this thread was under boost also..... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...e+spring+broke

I just had the G6x3 cam installed.... Had Patriot Dual extreme gold springs installed, with titanium retainers and locks.... The second spring might save your engine should the larger fail. Thats why I went with them.

Are you replacing the 8 AFM lifters?

If you have a L99 (auto) I would not run dual high pressure springs unless you replace the 8 AFM lifters. The AFM lifters will fail in short order with dual springs. I would check with Mast before you do it,even if you replace the AFM lifters.

Nice of you to revive the thread:paddle:.

OP. You need to get a DOD delete if you wish to run duals. Those VVT kits are designed with single*beehive* springs in mind. If you are set on running duals go ahead and do a full LS3 conversion.
A VVT cam and dual springs with stock DOD lifters are a recipe for disaster IMHO.

You can do duals with no issues. Thought it came with duals, maybe not.
