Strange S-60 w/ DSS Carbon Shaft & Level 5 Axles Install & Testing...

As some of you already know, Strange has come up with a new IRS housing for our Fifth Gen Camaro's that is a direct bolt-in unit, including differential poly bushings. Gear choices are basically all Dana 60 gears, starting at 3.54 and will come pre-assembled by Strange using their S-Trac, Truetrac, or Detroit Locker differential carriers.

Driveshaft Shop will be providing axles, and driveshafts for these units. If anyone with a 9" IRS wants to change over to the 60 housing, the axles should be a direct swap for this unit, the driveshaft works out to be about 2.5" shorter than the 9" so you can have your current aluminum one cut down & re-balanced for the application. This unit has the optioned chromemoly yoke.

I will have further information soon, including street & track testing on our in-house shop car.

I really like the fact that they will make the axles stubs to either the stock width of the 1000 and 1400hp and also the 9"

also the use of Factory style Spicer gears is priceless, factory quiet and also strong. just another option to consider......

So Frank this is a great option then for people that have the DSS Axles for their stock car. Another option along with the Hammerhead for reusing the factory-style replacement axles!

When will these be on sale?

There just waiting on a few test cars, this one should be ready very soon.

And if I upgrade my axles first (to 1400HP from you) that fit my stock center section, I'll definitely have no compatibility issues when I replace the center in the future with one of these?

yes that's correct axles will both right up, if you have a Driveshaft it would have to be shortened 2.5"

That's awesome news.

Awesome. Running a dana 60 in a 408/88mm car with no issues. They are strong.

assuming this will be in the 4-5K range for a setup like the other brands?

Is this pretty much a Dana 60 modified to work in our camaros?

if so, awesome.

Why do I have to hate my 9" so much that I would consider spending money on this?
