GM performance division badges?

I have the GM Performance Division plate under hood and GM badges behind front wheels do all the Camaros have these or just the SS? Is it anything special?

Thanks

its only for the cool kids.

but really it was a 2010 thing i believe, and i think only for SS.

Its a 2010 SS thing, but from what I've read, its only on the ones manufactured earlier. Mine has both and was made in June of 2009.

The GM badges of excellence (chicklets) and GM performance division badge are on all models of the Camaro from the earliest builds of 2009, all the way till about VIN 50,000. At that point, the GM performance division badge and GM badges of excellence were dropped. Although there was a brief period of time there where some cars had the chicklets but no performance division badge, etc. I have VIN 40,196 from 2009 and I have both the chicklets and performance division badge.

They aren't anything special.

GM Performance division was killed off due to the bankruptcy. So yes for a collector many many years from know it could mean something but so would a low VIN. Got to love having #230 day two car.

The Perfomance division has been brought back to life finally though and those badges are on the new ZL1.

for the cars that had the chicklets, most people were in a hurry to "de-badge" them. For the ones that did not have them on there, they have purchased them from ebay to add them. Funny how that works.

Reminds me of the split window corvette stories - all those people who cut the split out and made it one piece of glass... I bet they regret it now!

I have a 2010 right at 50,000 and it has not chicklets but does have the performance sticker under the hood. I think they killed the performance badge at about 55k

Performance badge, chicklets, and backup sensors.....manufactured Sept 2009.

Powhusku 04-02-2012 12:55 PM

Mine was a 16K so I probably wont remove the badges or chicklets for the sake of future collectors. Since my car is silver I barely notice the chicklets, which is a good thing because if my car were any other color, I'd probably think they look bad and take them off.
