Jagged Alliance: Back in Action
No, it's not a first person shooter. It's a series that is actually quite cool in how it simulates combat. It's turn based, so some people might be bored by it.
Combat system predates Baldurs Gate but is similar. Plan out a turn, and it executes. You can crawl, get under cover and do a variety of things. Good tactics are necessary. I just pre-ordered the expansion of it on Steam (to save 15%, lol)...out in Septbember. I played the previous versions of JA, and they were both excellent games. Heck, JA2 is on steam now, and probably is cheap as hell. Dated now though because the graphics were more VGA/EVGA at the time. http://www.shacknews.com/article/750...-in-september# |
OK, just to clarify. I just bought Jagged Alliance: Back in Action. Crossfire is an expansion which I also bought (but can't play yet as it was a pre-order).
I've had the weekend to get into this game, and so far I love it. AI for the enemy could be better, but overall this game rewards good tactics, just like the JA and JA2. Now, I can't wait for X-Com to come out later this year. Two of the best games of their type (Turn based tactics)... |
