So are the 1LE Axles...

Are the 1LE axles stronger than the standard SS? If so by what percentage? And what type of HP/TQ numbers can they handle?
Thanks in advance.

The half shafts are from the ZL1 so I would say they could handle 580 horsepower. There are some members on here that are scheduled for the early 1LE builds so we should see how a heavily modded 1LE will perform within a few months if not sooner.

They are the same as the ZL1? I thought it was said they weren't due to the rear-ends being different. :iono: It would be great if they were because they are stout. Some ZL1's are near 800 HP/TQ.

Find it hard to believe since the ZL1 axle assembly is $610 list, and the 22806795 and 22806796 1LE axles are about $250. Knowing GM the 1LE axles are probably only slightly stronger than the SS. It's still an SS but with more grip and torque, not enough to warrant ZL1 axles.

I've been looking hard to find out about them. Looks like they are upgraded from the SS but no information is given about them. I thought they were included with the other ZL1 parts, (shock mounts, toe links, wheel bearings, etc), but it appears they are not from what I can see. Sorry, should have looked into it more before I posted that.
