*MUST* Get 2SS Just for Gauges and Interior?
Looking at page 4 and 5 at the Camaro ordering workbook, it seems like the only way to get the Inferno Orange Interior Accent Trim and the four-pack gauges is to get a 2SS, but I don't WANT all that other crap loading down my car, let alone have to pay almost $4,000 for it!
Audio controls on the steering wheel? Thanks, but no thanks. Heavy-ass speakers? Get out of my car. Heated seats? My ass is hot enough. Where's my 1LE?!?! :iono: :mad0259:  This is why I complain about turning a $30,000 car into a $35,000 car: New Car Loan Amount: $30,000 Loan Term (months): 60 Market Finance Rate (APR): 7.23% Total Loan Amount: $32,325.00 My Monthly Payment (tax included): $643.58 New Car Loan Amount: $35,000 Loan Term (months): 60 Market Finance Rate (APR): 7.23% Total Loan Amount: $37,713.00 My Monthly Payment (tax included): $750.86 New Car Loan Amount: $40,000 Loan Term (months): 60 Market Finance Rate (APR): 7.23% Total Loan Amount: $43,100.00 My Monthly Payment (tax included): $858.11 By the way, I'm not complaining. I know GM has to make money on this car. I want it to make money on this car. I'm SO glad that they took out that damn "torque meter" bullshit gauge. Thank you GM! But, I want a white car with red rally stripes and red or white/red leather interior to be my first new Camaro (and car) ever. It's looking like I'm not going to get my dream car next year. :( |
The 2LT has both the Orange Interior and the 4 pack gauges available.
|
...Well, I guess I should have said that I'm only interested in the 6.2L. Those other Camaros don't exist in my mind. The DI V6 is an awesome piece of tech and puts out as much or more as my LS1 did when it was stock, but I'm only interested in the SS.
But, that makes me even more frustrated. |
In the old days, there were no PEG's - Preferred Equipment Groups.
The Japanese taught us that there was more profit in consolodating available options into packages. I know what you're saying; My example: You have to get the 3LT Corvette ($4555 PEG) with HUD, etc., to get a telescoping steering wheel. GM and all others do this to try to be profitable and survive. |
I contemplated the same thing, thats why I went with the 1SS/RS Package. I don't ever use the steering wheel buttons and I dont like looking down at guages. Leather gets hot as hell in the summer here in vegas, so cloth was fine for me!

well if you can live without the IOM interior you can get the four pack as a dealer install

But, no. I can't live without it. Not if I get a black car. My dream car is white with red rally stripes though. I'm probably going to wait and see the real cars and what their options look like and everything. I'm probably looking at the second year car anyway. :iono: |
there are no red rally stripes.....sorry...
|
Not NOW there isn't. But, I have an AR15 and a death threat letter that says red rally stripes and white leather will be available NEXT YEAR.
|
I just read where you said they canceled the Victory Red interior... Gah, that hurts so bad. I've been dreaming of a white/Red new Camaro for so many years. I'm in the position where I can get one now. And, they're telling me they're not going to make my car. Gah, that hurts.
|
What about the stripes for the 1SS? Because I thought they were only available on the 2SS, yet when I ordered my 1SS they allowed me to order cyber gray rally stripes with it. Hopefully that still holds up.

You would be surprised how little weight those options really add… And remember 100 lbs is only one thenth in the ¼… ;) |
