Borla ATAK axleback installation question

My car is currently on a lift at a local shop to have the Borla Axleback installed. I have an M6 Camaro 2SS. My shop just called me and told me the Borla pipe is too small to fit over the factory pipe. They said it almost seems like it is small enough (not quite tho) to go inside which of course would not give me a proper seal. Has anyone heard of this problem? I'm currently on hold trying to get thru to Borla as I type this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

according to the installation instructions below, it should slide over the stock pipe.

Yeah, this has turned into a (mild) nightmare. Turns out I was sent the wrong system. I was sent one for a V6. Yes, I did order the correct V8 system.

So now my car is sitting on a lift at a shop with no exhaust. They are sending me out a new (correct) exhaust, but it probably wont get here until the end of the week. The customer service was very friendly, but I was really hoping they would expedite the shipping. I am disaapointed with their resolution to say the least.
