When will the first Z/28 get to a customer's hands?

IMO this will be slow and long like the 1LE so i say the first ones are some 8 months out, what do you think.

90503 04-25-2013 10:27 PM

Don't they usually start selling next years model in October???...I dunno...7-8 mos sounds about right...

Dtrimpi87 04-25-2013 10:28 PM

I heard they aren't shipping Z/28's until spring 2014. It was in one of the many threads. Dont remember which one.

They start production for 2014 MY in August 2013. Deliveries will begin Mid to late Sept. The Z/28 will not be available until Spring of 2014. Just like the 2012 ZL1's, not the 1LE.

Forty5th 04-26-2013 03:28 AM

Certain dealers have a waiting list just for their initial allocation batch which is still unknown... I'm #2 in my dealership's list. In reality the GM said estimate next summer 2014 to get one on hand... lots of time to sleep on it.

mrvenicess 04-26-2013 07:27 AM

I have been told that there has been no official word from GM as to when the Z/28 goes into production, am I wrong? Is a spring intro official or just an internet rumor?

"Spring" sounds pretty vague....my guess is it's a teaser, like everything else...They'll be heros when it comes out earlier than expected....

2cnd chance 04-26-2013 11:52 AM

My guess is ordering will start in Q4 2013 and delivery Q2 2014

"We expect the Z28 to hit our showroom later this year. No official shipment date has been announced."

Don't shoot me, I am just posting what one dealer has on their website.

Yeah,...lol...gotta remember this Z/28 will be used as a huge marketing tool as well....Anything to get folks in the showroom, even random speculation....lol...

That's why they could break even on it and still come out way ahead.

True, perhaps...or they could way over-price it, so buyers feel happier with the other model Camaro they bought...lol...

GM has always been about bang for the buck, especially Chevrolet.

True, however the Z/28 will push the Camaro more than the C7 will. The C7 will definitely promote the entire Chevrolet brand.

Forty5th 04-26-2013 01:27 PM

C7 (prices just released) starts at $51,000... not bad at all as a $1400 increase over the base '13 C6. Hopefully the Z/28 won't be priced way out of reach...

Looks like the "base" price of 51k doesn't hold up very long...In the vette thread everybody's 65-75k with options...just sayin'...

Because they want lots of extra (luxo/aesthetic) options.... I like:
1YX07 Corvette Stingray Coupe w/ Z51 $53,800.00
FE4 Magnetic Selective Ride Control w/ PTM $1,795.00
NPP Exhaust System Performance $1,195.00
UY4 Chevrolet MyLink Navigation System $795.00
Q7T Black Painted Aluminum Wheels $495.00
Add the mandatory Destination Charge $995.00... and total = $59,075
Take out the painted rims and exhaust, I'd save another 1690...

2cnd chance 04-26-2013 05:19 PM

So base, Z51 and NPP = $54,995. ?

Yes... a 1LT w/ Z51 & NPP and then tack on that mandatory $995 destination charge + tax/tags...

C'mon man!...lol...I'll bet that new 'Vette depreciates a hell of a lot more than the Z/28 will...lol...You gotta go Camaro...lol...

Ding ding ding, exactly, and the Z51 performance package is $2,800. Bargain City. And the C7 was redone.....inside, outside, upside down. Z/28 will no doubt be more than the base ZL1 as told us by GM, "the most expensive Camaro ever".....but by a similar proportion as the C7 'Vette I surmise. Chevy=Value/Bargain
And when mine comes in sometime next April I'll let ya'll know how it is..... :headbang:

Like someone mentioned before, Z/28...it will be more rare than the Z51. Go with this, especially if you're going to track it a lot and you already have DD. If not, the Z51 with the MRC option would be your best bet if it's going to serve as both DD and track monster. My .02 cents.

I'd say the Z/28 is way more SC than MC. I've always been a Camaro guy over a Corvette guy myself, however the new Vette is something more than it ever has been IMO.

Yes I agree with that. Oh and this will be a toy not a DD. Road Atlanta is within 30 minutes. :thumb:

Definitely the Z/28 then :thumb: If after you've gotten it and it doesn't live up to expectations you could probably straight trade for a loaded C7.

Yes, I'm sure the Z/28 will hold value better.

Denis 04-28-2013 04:48 AM

Question is, who will get #1??

C'mon MAN! you know the answer to that one

stratman2SSRS 04-28-2013 06:33 AM

Rick Hendrick probably already knows when and where to be when the first one rolls off the line. He has the day booked off from work already, and has the color picked out, and a spot in his garage empty.

Wizard1183 04-28-2013 09:00 AM

When Rick Hendrick demands to get his hands on one :D
