LPE 3.91 play

Just put my new JRE upgrade diff with 3.91s in and it seems to have more slack or play in it. I have only put 10 mi on it and about 9 figure 8s. Does the 3.91s have more play in them then the stock 3.45?

Any one with 3.91s what does yours feel like if you put a little load on them and push in the clutch?

Also JRE told me that GM changed some stuff on the 12 diff just so ya know.

O yea the 3.91 with the M6 is very nice I have not did much with them yet but the car feels 500 pounds lighter when takeing off at a stop light.

I just put my JRE diff in last month. Got the 3.91 too. What do you mean they have more play in them? I know the posi is definatley tighter than stock.

O yea the posi part of it works very well. I can hear and feel the inside tire pulling when I was doing the figure eights.
You know how these cars will have a bit of a clunk if you are taking off in frist gear slow like out of a parking lot up a small incline and push in the clutch at say 2500 and when the drive trane unloads it will clunk. I have been in 3 or so SS's M6 and they all do it to some point.

It seems like that. My only other thought is that the OEM diff was looser and took up some of the "clunk" where the new JRE diff is tighter and does not but sure seem like its coming from the back of the car now.
I will keep looking at it.

Yeah, I have a brand new 12 SS and my driveline clunks a bit. When parking in the garage and disengaging the clutch i'll get a clunk or going through a drive-thru. I'm not concerned though.

Drive it a couple of hundred miles to break in the clutches in the rear, mine was the same, you could feel the inner tire on whatever turn you were making skip or chatter as you were cornering...almost feels like a spool, but that went away after 250+- miles and a differential fluid change
