Finally installed my ROTO-FAB CAI.
Thanks to Phastek Performance for the great price and seamless transaction!
I spent a couple of hours last night installing my ROTO-FAB CAI. (So my wife signed off on my purchase of the ZL1 because I told her I was paranoid about all the engine work I did to my 2011 GT Mustang and the fact that I had definitely voided my warranty. I justified buying either the ZL1 or the GT500 buy saying I would have everything I needed and wouldn't need to do anything that would void the warranty...) Well, thanks to ROTO-FAB for this awesome CAI! And I got my fix for doing even a small amount of modding... I love the sound and appreciate any performance it may have added. I love the way it looks too. Very nice! https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...43088383_n.jpg |

Did the same thing today. Also added a catch can.

Look. If the mod bug hits you and you want your warranty, a few appearance mods and fuzzy dice go a long way....
....plus the SLP headers and download tune installed at rhe dealer don't void your warranty. But it was kind of fun installing the Rotofab wasn't it |
nice and nothing better than being able to hear the Supercharger

When ever possible I try to keep the engine bay looking factory. Of course anyone that knows their way around the LSA will see the mods but try not to bring attention to them. Rob |

I was asked which black paint I used for the Moroso catch can. It was a Krylon product. Paint and primer combo. Goes on well. I let it dry for a couple of days between coats and then a couple of days before the install.
What is most important is the prep. I reduced enamel reducer to wipe down the unit but most folks don't have that laying around. I would use isopropyl alcohol instead. I installed the two barbs with teflon tape prior to painting and masked off where the hoses go over the barb. The bottom hole was plugged with the right angle barb that was masked as well. Got it at Walmart for about $5. Hope this helps. Rob |
