Mine either. It feels nice and firm. No wobble, no slop, no vibration with mine. I didn't even use the attenuating material that came with mine.

I installed the aftermarket hurst and love it. Much better feel than stock.

I have a factory Hurst in my 02 and it is noisy I hope they fixed that.. I put a Barton in my 2010 and love it. Play? yes it loosens up a bit but I found the flex to be in the factory linkage but not enough to worry about.

Greenrail ... you may want to be sure and save the " attenuating material"

greenrail 08-31-2010 07:37 AM

I save just about everything. I even still have my original mufflers and engine cover

It's from the white bushings at the lower part of the shifter.
they crush down from use..asked hurst about it and they said they have not had any complaints but I shimmed mine but now the play is back just not as much..hurst sent me new bushings but that is not the fix..need and firmer or solid type of bushing like the factory one..So their is no side to side action..

Nope. Factory is 25% shorter throw. Hurst Billet / Plus 2 Shifter is 44% shorter.

If you really want the Hurst to show up on your window sticket get the factory. If you want the best in performance get the Plus 2. (as far as Hurst goes, I'm not arguing if the Barton or the PFADT or the MGW or others are better).

Hi Becky :help:
The shifter looks good. Do you have the GM part number for the factory Hurst shifter. I would like to get the factory one but my dealer keeps giving me the Hurst part #3916030. I want to order it from a GM supplier, not from Hurst.
Thanks
Don

Hey Becky could you pm me the GM part number for this hurst shifter whenever it comes out as well? Thanks!

Thanks for the picture Becky. Is the Hurst emblem on both sides?

Neither does mine. I'd get that checked.

vincewalthers 08-31-2010 08:11 AM

I've been debating whether or not to get the aftermarket or the gm.. I have until Christmas to decide on my Xmas present lol

nak3dsnake 08-31-2010 08:22 AM

I've got the aftermarket Hurst, and I'd love to have the factory leather shift knob with the Hurst emblem. Depends on how much it is if it can be bought separately.
