Rim repair locations / reviews

Anyone have a good review of a rim repair business that did a good job fixing curb rash? (touched two curbs a while ago)

Thanks in advance. CT

Don had it done to one of his. I don't think it cost a lot and I came out really good. He'll be at the RICOA show on Sunday. He has a silver and black striped SS.

I bought some wheels which were curbed, pitted, chipped, and even had some rust starting on some of the damaged areas. Took them to New Hampshire Wheel & Tire (www.neww.com) and they came back brand new. It may be a bit of a drive for you though.

Filthy Phil had a hint to clean them up, and I think Yellow Camaro also did something to his. We'll talk at the show. I still need to get mine done.

I had my curb rash repaired two months ago... $125 to repair and refinish a rim... I used a mobile service that came right to me and took the wheel for 7hrs.. some rims they can do right there on the spot.. but these midnight silver alloys require coats of black under the silver finish... you can find them online at AWRSWheelrepair.com then location by state... looks good as new.. cant tell where the rash or the chunks i took out of the edge were.... I was very happy... after I stopped crying.. :)

Thanks for the help guys. The two places mentioned I have looked at online and now I know they get good results.

Rimpro of Tewksbury. I had two rims refinished there. One had curb rash they had to tig weld the other had scratches inito the metal. Both came out like new. Not cheap but nice work. $200. Per rim.

Phil, you gave me a tip way back when on how to fix it myself, but I don't remember what you recommended....you told me about it at that autocross back in 2010...

It was called liquid steel.
it's a putty you mix and smooth over damaged area. You have to take down any high spots. Then work it in dammaged area. Smooth with damp finger . Sand. Paint. If rims are polished. This process won't work.
