Quick question...
How do you all keep it clean under the hood? :)
|
damp rag every time I wash.
|
It won't leave smudges?
|
Just like the outside, you wash it. Takes a little more time because you have to cover things that don't like the H20 but yeah.
|
What exactly would i need to cover? Sorry ive never washed under the hood.

Sometimes I use a little detail spray and a microfiber towel. Most times, I use my "non-paint" shammy to wipe things down. (I use one shammy for painted surfaces, and the other for pipes, valance, wheel wells, etc.) |

The hoodliner can stain, so I would not wash that. |

I never recommend power washing under a hood. You should never need more than a gentle spray of water. |

For the mostpart modern factory wiring harnesses and things are water tight, but that doesn't mean water can't be forced in there with pressure. Any washing should be done with a low pressure, broad fan setting. |
I mist the whole bay with a diluted 1:1 Lowes citrus dergreaser - I cover nothing, but I MIST.
wait 15 min and MIST again with either rinseless or water (hose) dry and spray with Wolfgang Vinyl and Rubber sealant...Here's my "13 accord engine bay after a detail. Look at the radiator hose...nice and clean, not shiny.. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...ds/null-49.jpg |
Ugh speaking of this. Washed the car today, saw a guy with a high pressure hose at the spray and pay drown the engine and that's not even the worst part. He left the engine running while doing this for a solid 5 minutes - 10 minutes.

Thanks alot guys!
