ZL1 NOT SHIPPED-HELD FOR INSPECTION?

My car was built over 3 weeks ago and was supposed to have been shipped the next day. Becky had checked on it also and she confirmed it.Well I find out yesterday it is being held at the factory "for inspection" Whats up with that? You all know how hard it is to wait and it is about to do me in but come on,how long does it take to inspect a car? Is there something else going on that they are not telling me? Does anyone have any ideas of what is really happening?

Thats typical operation.... they pull cars every so often to do quality control and make sure everything is right. It's frustrating but theres not much you can do.

It's all good, your order just got pulled for an extended QC. It happens every so many cars that are built. No one is trying to be tricky, and not telling you the truth. There is no idea of knowing how long it will be there.

Mine sat for 5 week waiting for stripe for trunk lid. Built and bayed may 3/12. Car was not delivered at dealer until June 22/12. Seemed like 6 months!!!!

Well,no offense here guys but I wished they would have pulled someone else's car instead of mine!! I got really excited when I was told it was shipped and I ordered a bunch of parts for the car and I have already recieved them. Now I just sit and look at these parts hoping I will get the car to put them on! It's tough looking at all the parts but I will just have to hang in there I guess!

Look on the bright side, you're car will be perfect when you get it.

I believe all ZL1/1LE's currently at the plant are on QC hold.

Our cars from 2012 # 464 off the line went to Qc forever, then sat in the cold till they finally shiped, The wait was killing me so we know your pain. Hang in there your car will be home soon.

It had better be! I know it will but still they should move faster to get them out especially when it is a sold order and not just going to a dealer.

mine was held and its far from perfect

If it's like Corvette ALL of em go on a 2 week QC hold, the reason being that if an issue if found in production they can catch the cars before they ship. Then they pull random cars to do an extended QC check, some have been delivered with extra miles on them.

Mine has been built/bayed since 4/12. It's been 3 weeks now since then and has not been shipped yet. I understand what you are saying, but it appears 2 weeks is not a magic number in our case. The rest all sounds about what I expected.

Mine was pulled into QC also, then all of the ZL1's were held because of the cold temps and the potential of the tires cracking. Don't know what the weather is there at the moment but if the temp dropped again that could be part of it.
