Tasha - Orange on Orange 2013 2LT RS (Traded-In)
August 2nd, 2013 Brought my Camaro Home
Bought my Camaro from Pohanka Chevorlet in Manassas, Virginia. I told them I was only interested in an IOM 2LT with IO Interior and Navigations. They found one for me at another dealer around 200 miles away and went and got it for me. Contrast this with Ted Britt who tried to down sell me to a 1LS they had on the lot. Once they got the vehicle, I had them put Black Rally Stripes on it before I picked it up. September 7th, 2013 Smoked Lenses and Fender Scripts from RPI Designs
Black on Black Camaro License Plate Holders Smoked lens covers for Tail Lights, Reverse Lights and Side Markers Blacked out Fender Scripts from RPI Designs The RPI Fender Scripts are problematic. They are OEM Factory Fender Scripts that RPI has painted black. Unfortunately, they did not do a good job. I accidentally brushed up against the edge of the letters with a cloth that had 3M Adhesive Remover on it and the paint came right off. You can see this in the pictures. http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps45a8fb6f.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...pse54dc914.jpg |
September 20th New Emblem Pro Fender Scripts and RS Badge
Because of the problems with the RPI scripts, I ordered a new set of Fender Scripts and RS Emblems from Emblem Pros. These are custom cut composite materials, so they do not have the issue of paint coming off, however, they are not exactly the same size as the original scripts. For the fender scripts, they are close enough and look pretty good. For the RS, the shape is not really exactly the same and that bothered me quite a bit. http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...pse3d55042.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...psee051406.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...psa0de5169.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps99869a8d.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps40b5d6be.jpg |
October 3rd. New Defenderworx RS Badge
Next I replaced the Emblem Pro RS Emblem with one from Defenderworx. The Defenderworx product is very nice. Billet Aluminum that is powdercoated. Paint will not come off with adhesive remover at all. They are quite a bit bigger than the original RS emblems however. I have included a picture of the Original RS, Emblem Pro RS and Defenderworx RS side-by-side to give you and idea of the size difference. The larger emblem in the back did not bother me, but you cannot replace the one of the front of the vehicle with the Defenderworx one as it is too large. In the long run, I will either remove it or find a better replacement. Probably going to try out one of the custom painted ones from River City Graphics and see what the quality is like. I should also note that the Defenderworx Fender Scripts are not an exact match to the font used for the OEM Fender Scripts, so I don’t really consider them to be an option. I think I will add a thread to the mod forum comparing all the different after market script options after I am all done. http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...psc52a1d7b.png http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...psfe0e39d0.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps6d2371a3.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...pse5f49b46.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps69151901.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps23a194bf.jpg |

October 19, 2013 – New Splash Guards
Installed ZL1 Front and Rear Splash Guards http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps7d3cdf1b.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps8ae3838c.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...psc42f1acc.jpghttp://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps547bd92a.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps13ce32ff.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps3367b3d9.jpg |
October 23rd, 2013 CAI, Inc. Cold Air Intake and VMAX Ported Throttle Body from Apex
Installed a Black CAI, Inc Cold Air Intake and VMAX Ported Throttle Body that I purchased from Apex. Whole process took about an hour and was very straightforward and easy to do. I also purchased an Apex Scoop and Windshield Washer relocation kit, but was limited on time, so will install those later in the week. I thought about getting the painted TB, but looking at how the engine cover sits, it seemed like it would be a waste of money since at most, you can see a small sliver of the TB. Later-on, I will get a nice painted engine cover. http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...pse6161dcc.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...psc32c3ecc.jpg |

Lovin' the IOM and the RS....
Nice car. Kurt ABL99...:chevy: |
Thanks all, going to pick up some new wheels around December 1st when I get snow tires. Also thinking about some Weathertech floor matts for the winter as well to keep the carpet clean once the weather turns.

Nice work so far. Its my favorite color for the Camaro as you can tell.
|
Thanks. One of the reasons I finally broke down and bought the Camaro is because I heard a rumor they weren't going to have IOM on the 2014. Between that and the new rear fascia, I jumped on one of the last ones available for 2013.
