I read the article and it makes me not want an intake lol.

Makes me want to modify my stocker and sell my CAI.

Thats what I was thinking... die grinder and a bit of filling should fix it right up.

Sneakier too. Maybe a weekend project.

Is this a new test or the one that they had problems with some of the installs? Thx Bobby

Nice, thanks for posting.

Man I wish New Era performed a little better. I think it looks the best. They'd need to lower their price too based on every report I've seen so far. Another thing that would be nice with these intakes if they could be measured accurately off the dyno in driving situations since that would have an affect on this intake's performance specifically (being somewhat of a ram air).

I'm wondering if the Cold Air Inductions rig would've produced better performance if it were a cooler day. The day it was tested it was 71 degrees. Or maybe just a high flow airfilter in the the stock airbox? :iono:

I wonder why they didnt do K & N

That's the one I ended up going with. It's still in the box though cause I want to get it powder coated to match the engine bay. That will take care of the ugliness to it. Performance wise, without a tune it appeared to still do better than most. With a tune I bet it will be off the hizzle. Can't wait to install.

There is a up to a 25* split in the ambient temps...I can undersand what they wanted to do but the acceleration results are no more reliable than the dyno results with those temp differences..jmo..BTW I don't have a dog in the fight for any of the intakes.

Didn't it dyno the best?

Holy crap, I didn't notice that. That's a HUGE difference for a "controlled" test.

I just installed A CAI system on my L99, it runs a lot stronger than i would have guess it would. I have installed other systems on Mustangs, BMW's, 300c, and ford trucks and never experianced the torque I feel with this system. IMO, it's AWESOME. No problems, such as stumbing or throwing codes. I replaced it, after another system caused these same problems. That system was mentioned in this test. The CAI makes the car run the way it should run coming from the factory.
