Virginia Int raceway is a great Road course and it is important since the 2012 gt500 posted a lap time here with an independent driver last year. I am eager to see what the ZL1 posted

What I love about the road course is that you can literally see almost a 1/4 to 1/2 mile ahead of you for most turns. It is awesome! Can't wait to see this vid. I wonder who was driving??

Well, based on the above, I would GUESS the ZL1 in the "right" hands will run the VIR ring in a 2:53.1; I think the straightaways give back the cornering disadvantages.

I wonder what temps were for this run? Hopefully there weren't traction issues due to cold weather that prohibited an optimal time.

Agreed.....with Max Performance summer tires,I don't see them getting a good time this time of year in Va. I run PS2's on my Z06 year round & it's a totally different car when the temps are below ~60 degrees.

Pretty impressive! There were a couple guys on other forums that were saying even the 11/12 Gt500 would be super close, but they obviously aren't giving the car any credit.

Now Im looking forward to the 13 Shelby to run there.

I'm seeing there are more than one course for that track. Unfortunately - a lot of those times I posted didn't really distinguish if there were any differences. The Lightning Lap times were probably the most representative, IMO. Same people, same courses, etc.

Anyone who questions this cars ability REALLY needs to re-think that. The ZL1 is a friggen monster, and its not to be messed with.

This was driven by a GM engineer, most likely. I wonder how it fill fare in the lightning lap when someone who isn't used to it drives it?

ZL1 is going to be the complete package. No doubt about it .. Great time and puts that car in great company!

Didnt a 13 gt500 vert post a VIR time?! Where is that at ?

I think they ran it but no time has been posted yet that I know of....

It may have but it's not released as stated above.

The only times we have any idea of is that the 13 vert is 3ish seconds faster at Sebring than the previous PP coupe.

It 3.5 seconds faster than the 2011 coupe. So ZL1 coupe is 2 seconds cater than the new Shelby convertible.

It looks like the driver could have been a little faster in some of the areas to me.

@ 1:10 that off bank turn @ 100mph , he almost lost it.
Bring on the '13 GT500 times

The car looked a little squishy in some of the turns and transitions. It looked like it could be much faster with stiffer suspension and sticky tires.
The shifting looked really quick.

And it looked like it could be driven harder.

I wonder how the auto would do? I wonder if it would overheat.
