Differences between 2LT and 1SS besides engine?

Sorry, I'm pretty new around here. I'm just trying to debate between a 2LT and 1SS, and which is the better bang for the buck.

Is there any difference between the 2, besides the V6 and V8 engines and the cloth/leather interiors?

I believe the Convenience and Connectivity is only available on the 2LT.

The things the 2LT has that the 1ss doesn't...

 Boston Acoustics ® premium 9-speaker
245-watt audio system
Bluetooth® for phone, personal cell phone
connectivity to vehicle audio system
 Cargo convenience net
 Driver Information Center (DIC) compass
Four-pack gauges mounted on center console:
oil pressure, battery voltage, oil temperature and
transmission uid temperature
 Inside auto-dimming rearview mirror
 Body-color power-adjustable heated mirrors
(auto dimming on driver side)
Wireless PDIM (for use of steering-wheel controls
with auxiliary device)
 Remote vehicle starter system
(with automatic transmission)
Leather-appointed front seat trim with SS embroidery
Heated driver and front passenger seats
 Steering-wheel-mounted audio controls
 Universal Home Remote
 USB port

The 1SS has 20in wheels whereas the 2LT has 19s.

brembo braking system on the SS not on the 2LT... uh higher insurance rate on the SS... the convenience and connectivity.. the leather.. and the mailslot fascia on the SS as well as lower grill... curb weight is more on SS... pretty significant gas mileage difference. probably a few more things that i cant remember at the moment but thast the jist of it

Boston Acoustics is available on the 1SS as is remote start . And the leather on the 2LT is gonna have SS embroidery? I believe the 4 pack gauges are gonna be an aftermarket option as well. The rest of is basically the C and C package.

Sorry I copied and pasted from the 1ss vs 2ss differences hence the SS embroidery. But yea, BA is extra. Remote start is NOT available on the 1ss as it's part of the C&C package which is not available on the 2ss. 4 pack gauges is included in the 2LT but not the 1SS and it's not been 100% confirmed if they'll be available from GMPP or not (it's not in the catalog). Of course they could probably be ordered as a replacement part and likely installed with no issues. But it might not be as easy as a simple plug-in. So to summarize, corrected list....

i'm looking at the ordering workbook & don't see anywhere that says you can get remote start on a 1SS. the LT will not have SS embroidery... that's for SS models. the 4-pack will be available through the dealer.

the other differences are:

2LT
-the C&C components
-single-piston brakes
-FE2 suspension (more street friendly)
-160mpg speedometer
-all season tires
-rear spoiler only available with RS package
-transmissions: 6L50 (auto), AISIN AY6 (manual)

1SS
-four-piston brakes
-FE3 suspension (stiffer, lower - more tuned for performance driving)
-180mph speedometer w/ SS detailing
-different front fascia & rear diffuser
-performance summer tires
-rear spoiler standard
-transmissions: 6L80 (auto), TR6060 (manual)
-3.45 rear end with manual transmission

So the 2LT is only leather on the front seats?

tally114 01-19-2009 10:15 PM

I must have dreamt up the remote start for the 1SS. I could have sworn I seen that in there. :bonk:

Thr transmission and rear differential are different also.

Mr. Wyndham 01-19-2009 10:29 PM

Only if the LT is an auto. If it's a manual -- it'll have the SS's rear-end.

Really? That's news to me... but I won't argue...I just knew that the V8 I plan on buying has a beefier rear end than the V6 does so that it should be able to take the upgrades I'll do to it.

ArcAngel 01-19-2009 10:46 PM

i dont foresee the gas mileage difference that significant either. its one mpg city and 3 highway so what an average of 1.5 mpg difference for 126 more hp and 100+ more lb feet of torque!!??
