Powder coated wheels and mothers powerball for paint

I just picked up a used set of zl1 wheels and they are grungy with some pretty caked on crap. I'm assuming brake dust or something. Trying to get it off by hand is taking FOREVER. Has anyone used the mothers powerball for paint on painted or powder coated wheels? What other suggestions does everyone have? Clay bar?

You can try some of the Adams Deep wheel cleaner, or similar product

mother's powerball is to polish the wheels, not to clean it. Besides, meguiar's dynacone attachment is better at polishing :)

They have a paint version too. I figured it would polish/wax painted/powder coated wheels. And maybe help clean them.

Just wondering if anyone has used it.

Well yes it polishes and wax, but that's totally different than cleaning.
