Always had crappy MPG until...

...I spray cleaned the Mass Air Flow Sensor (with appropriate cleaning spray). My mileage since then has increased 3MPG. Yes, really.

I have 31k, first time I've done it. Curious if others have experienced the same?

I just use good quality gas and keep my intake tract clean with seafoam (not a problem after my catch can). I average above 22.

Good gas and seafoam won't keep your MAF sensor clean... It should be cleaned occasionally using something like CRC MAF sensor cleaner. It can make a difference.

I usually spray mine off at least once a year, maybe twice. In my old car it apparently really needed to be cleaned once, cleaned it off, and MAN what a difference.

The MAF is load device and is used to help calculate so many controls in todays vehicles. It even helps to set line pressure in the transmissions. We have "Oil" air filters of certain brands that will make transmissions slip. We have sometimes cleaned the MAF and removed the filter, take the car for a drive and show the client they did not need a rebuild now with no slipping. It is a good PM to clean twice a year.

Yep that's the spray, great stuff.

Fwiw I remove the MAF from the tube and cleaned it out of the car.

Time to spray. Maybe when I change my oil. Thanks for the information

Picked up a can this week at AutoZone and just sprayed. I probably won't get to drive until this weekend. I will let you know if I notice any difference.
