Okay, after all the battles (mostly lost) trying to tune the LLT, I have offically given up. We started working on seeing what it would take to get the ECU from a 2012 to work with the LLT, but it was just too big a project. So...

Today I took ownership of a 2012 2LT/RS LFX. Ryan has already connected to it with EFI Live and is working with them on a few tweaks for the transmission connectivity.

The plan is to do some base pulls and then let them develop a stock tune. After that we will start the twin turbo build anew.

Right now Ryan's taking all the good parts off my car to swap what we can. I'll post a link to my classified ad for the parts I can use (like ported heads, ported intake manifold, shorty headers, intake isolator, etc..), so keep an eye out for that you LLT guys.

And now for some pics of the new ride.

I keep playing with that idea...

Anyways, green was nice but lovin' the new color

2010 SSRS 10-29-2012 04:03 PM

I love that color, congrats

...and now the secret is out!!

Congrats Derrick...that is one fine lookin machine there. How are you enjoying the upscale interior and the LFX engine? Probably hard for you to directly compare the 2012 to your 2010 since it is so modified.

At least you won't have to deal with Vince any longer and tunes should come much easier hopefully!

HOLY CRAP!

Yeah I know what you mean about the tuning issue but all of the work that I've done to my car I just don't think I could do it.

Congrats, can't wait to monitor your build!

Battle_Camaro 10-29-2012 04:16 PM

Congratulations sir. I am fond of that color as well.

It does concern me a little...you being the TT pioneer and mine being install here soon.

Can't wait to see what you do it though!

Thought some of you would like the new color. Have to admit, I'm going to miss the SGM. I really love that color. But this orange is pretty cool, too. Just going to have to resist the urge to put some green on it...people will start calling it a pumpkin.

First thing I said ... "Is this thing running." Then I drove it and said "where's the beef." It has been so long since I was stock I forgot what it was like.

The interior is a very nice upgrade to the 2010. I also went without the sunroof so I won't have to lean the seat way back when I have my helmet on.

Remember, I'm going for more power than most of you guys. We just needed to be able to see the logs and tune it ourselves.

Yeah, your the lone TT LLT now my brother. I did get Ryan to snap some shots of the oil-return setup before he started tearing her down. I'll get them to you when I get them from him.

We are swapping everything from the tranny back on to the 2012 and putting the new LLT I was going to build into this one. All the suspension parts as well as the wheels/tires are of course going to be swapped. We are also going to do some custom striping, ala the COPO, so SIXJAK wasn't far off I guess.

BaylorCamaro 10-29-2012 04:36 PM

Well I will say, I'm happy to see you stuck it out and stayed with a V6 and didn't just trade up to the SS. I think I may have taken the dark path to eight cylinders if I was in your shoes

No, not ready to bail on that just yet. I'm still keeping my eye out on for that perfect C6 Z06 though.
