Oil Changes between Track Days
Hi there. How often are people changing their oil between track days?
|
I do it every two track days. (Brian i want your opinion, go to my stock 1LE puts thread and chime in)thanks.

Depends on what oil you are running, how hard you drive, temperature, track, etc.
If you are running mobile 1 I would do it after every track day. VR1, amsoil and other top grade oils I would change after two track days. IMHO |
I Change my oil right before the beginning of the season. And run it all year, about 4-6 track days. For reference though, I only put about 5-6000 miles a year on my car. Oil life monitor is usually around 50%

Although I have track data that shows the Signature Series can go for 2000 miles of track time with no issues, included daily driven with pump 93 and 100 octane Sunnoco |

I change mine before each event and we run the JGR Driven LS30 with the AC Delco PF48R Filter. I beat my car and at the end of the day oil is cheaper than an engine...

OK....what about Brake Fluid? How often ya changing that, and with what?
I've done 1 Track day @ Mosport. 21000kms on car, 200kms on Track Day. Brakes are at 70%, Tires are still good, but wondering about Brake Fluid and it's breakdown?? |
I know some events (or maybe it's the track) require it to have been changed within 90 days. I'd like to hear other's opinions too. I plan on using ATE Type 200 (dry point of 510).
|
Also depends a bit on the track and how fast you drive. I bleed mine prior to every track day or I don't go.

^^AMEN!!! Do not take the chance with brake fluid.

i changed my oil after every 2-3 events, an event for me is mostly 2 days sometimes 3. After 3 events ill do a brake and clutch fluid flush.
