If i put a 12" in my trunk do I need an amp?
I no nothing about speakers and systems and all that... please suggest any nice set up and price and how to get it. how do 10" sound?
|
Yeah, you definately need an amp. A 10 or a 12 (personal preferance) will really fill out the sound of the stock stereo. Check out ********'s packages for the 5th gen Camaro. They have some nice easy to install packages.

I originally thought about a 10" but I upgraded at the last minute to the 12" and the extra $25 was well spent...IMO 10" is tight and a really good sound but the 12" has the ability to hit a little bit lower. ********'s 2010 kit is the way to go, whole kit makes the install easy

Get an amplifier. You need it.

bigger the better..imo..15s if you can fit 'em. Pair of 12s or 3 10s would rock..:headbang:
example: 3 JLw6 powered by a 1000w rms amplifier is a good start.:D |

Luckily I had stereo gear sitting around and tested a 12 and a 10 in a sealed box before deciding what size ******** enclosure I wanted. I ended up going with the 12", but the 10" sounded darn good too. IMO the 10" had a bit better response and I liked the tighter bass, but ended up going with the 12" for the low end. |
get the box & amp & install kit from Steve @ ********.. or get the whol edeal from him.,,get 2 TYPE R 12 " from Alpine.. if Steve can price em right :)
Or get them local.. for 100-150... The fit BEAUTIFULLY in box.. work well |
i recommend Kicker they have some great speakers, as far as a box build one yourself. Their not hard to do and you will get a better seal if you use some reson inside the box.
