Redline Track Events Announces Deal with VERSUS For the All-New Circuit Battles TV Program
The First Episode Launches Saturday, March 26th at 2pm Eastern
Rosamond, Calif. – February 24, 2011
Redline Track Events announces a programming schedule with VERSUS in which the all-new Circuit Battles television program will be broadcast to more than 75 million U.S. homes. Circuit Battles showcases the intense racing action, drama and drivers of the new Pro Track Challenge race series. The first 1-hour episode of the 10-race season airs Saturday, March 26th at 2pm Eastern.
The Pro Track Challenge introduces an evolutionary format and concept for circuit racing, pitting up to 16 teams in head-to-head, 2-lap “circuit battles” on some of the most challenging road racing circuits in North America. The result of a 5-lap Super Session seeding race fills the 16-car elimination bracket. Drivers will then face off in the hotly contested, “green, white, checker” 2-lap races, with the winner moving on and the loser loading their car in their trailer.
A diverse group of vehicles and drivers will be involved in the inaugural season of Circuit Battles, with vehicles such as the Chevrolet Corvette, Mitsubishi EVO, Subaru STI, Pontiac GTO, Porsche 911, MINI and Nissan 350z. The group of drivers represents a broad range of racing success and experience: Grand-AM, American Le Mans Series, World Challenge, Redline Time Attack and SCCA.
“We’re very excited to be working with VERSUS on this effort,” said Nikolas Malechikos, President of Redline Track Events. “This new format of racing we are introducing, coupled with the extremely high production value and unique delivery of the Circuit Battles program is going to make for some wild entertainment!”
A Winner Every 4 Minutes!
The new format of racing provides for rapid-fire action and edge-of-the-seat entertainment for motor sport fans. A total of 23 circuit battles will take place over the course of a 3 hour period at each event, offering an easy to follow and engaging motor sport entertainment experience. Every episode of Circuit Battles will showcase highlights from all of the on-track action and behind the scenes drama in stunning HD. Race analysis and commentary will be provided by in-studio hosts Nathan Kershaw and Todd Wilson. Joining them from the track will be pit-lane reporter Samantha Schacher.
H-Bomb Media of Burbank, California has been brought on to handle production of this highly-anticipated new program. With vast experience supporting reality shows, as well as award-winning action sports DVD and television productions, H-Bomb Media is in a unique position to deliver the excitement to television viewers.
“This exciting new format will make for some great racing and intense rivalries,” said Wes Miller, Executive Producer of Circuit Battles. “The head to head match ups will force the drivers to push their cars and take chances. In the end, all of this will make for some tremendous action for the fans and great television."
