6L80e Ticking
I hear my transmission click whenever I take off from a dead spot. Anyone have this issue? Is it normal?

Anyone?

I have the same noise..not really a ticking...more like a grinding gear type sound/rattle... more noticeable since i have the short throw in it now...

Try solving problems. Don't be bashing anything or anyone. I'll get PQ over here in a second. ;) |
Easy tiger...
Might be a loose mount?? |
I just need some A6 owners that can listen to their cars from a stop. A loose mount seems like the most plausible thing. Hopefully, it's not within the tranny, but I doubt that.
I need to fix it (if it's an issue) before I tune it. |

I guess the wink at the end didn't give it away as it not being a serious manner. See, the bad thing is that you can't tell what tone a person is using in text over the internet. lol  |
Okay here's the most detailed I can get...
Shift from M position to R. Give it a little gas (small amount - around 2 mph) and I hear one "clink" from the tranny area. The same thing happens when I go from R to M. Keep in mind it doesn't happen ALL the time, but I really only notice it with the windows down and the music off. Almost can't hear it with the axle-back, but it's there. It also does it when I'm going down a hill in D (subdivision roads). I hear 1 clink once it downshifts to a lower gear. I would really appreciate some A6 owners to experiment with their cars; windows down and music off. If anyone has any clue on if this is normal or not, please let me know. I'm thinking it could just be "catching" that gear since it's at a relatively low speed. |
SWEEEEEEEETTttttttttt.

Tell that MillerTime guy that the 6L80E is an automatic. :sm0: Ok. If anybody else needs anything, I'll be back in a year or so to clean it up. :bellyroll: :bellyroll: :bellyroll: |
