Miserable Night at the Track

I couldnt launch for shit. I lowered my pressure to 25 lbs. I rolled into and hammered it. Neither worked well. I would spin somewhere. I have some video of my runs.

For the circumstances, those times arent too bad.

What type of tires are you running and what was the temperature like?

Pro Stock John 06-22-2013 11:16 AM

Yeah what tires, and what's your best in the car?

JEFF75645 06-22-2013 11:17 AM

Im running stock tires with 25 lbs of pressure. Temp was 86-92. Im gonna post some video from my gopro. I didnt have the right mount so video is ok.

My best was 12.4 back in February. But that was before the stall.

Sounds like a tough combo to hook on stock tires. :)

You have no chance of hooking that car on street tires for any sort of decent time at all.
You've got an 11 second car with a low 1.7 60 foot and you're only going to do that on a good tire.

I don't know about 11's, but you've definitely got some room to improve. The heat and humidity are also hurting your times as our cars don't like the heat. Raise your tire pressure back up to around 30-32. IMO, 25 is too low for a stock tire. I've managed 1.6-1.7 short times on stock tires at 32 lbs.

I could hear the camera rattle every time it would spin.

I agree that 25 is too low for stock tires. I would say lowest would be 30-32.

Those aren't like drag radials with some sidewall on em. So lowering tire pressure actually reduces the amount of rubber contacting the ground.

Try 32psi and do a little burnout. Not too much to put on a smoke show, just enough to clean them and get em hot.

But really you need either radials or even better yet 18's on there.

sent from my galaxy s3. that would explain the errors.

JEFF75645 06-22-2013 12:17 PM

Im working on getting some 18's with MT ET Streets. And 18's all around.
