FAIL: Honda Accord > Chevy Monstertruck

A Hawaiian Chevrolet dealership setup a jacked-up Suburban to crush a vintage Honda Accord to send a message to anyone buying Japanese. The message became somewhat cluttered when the tiny Honda broke the SUV.
epic fail

I'm sure the hydraulic hose that broke was from some aftermarket company.
Not much about that 'burban looks stock.

Considering there isn't a stock part on that monster truck, I believe this goes as a FAIL to the maker of the monster truck.

fix the problem then crush 2

People will come into this thread saying, "Its not the Chevy that broke", but that won't matter as it is all about the imagery.

Chocolate Apocalypse 12-22-2008 02:26 PM

Does that truck only have RWD? I dont see a driveshaft for the front axle.

unfortunately, that's exactly what this is about...

The_Blur 12-22-2008 04:11 PM

That was just reckless. Why didn't they just pose a Suburban on top of it? You'd still be able to sell the Suburban, and it would only cost the time and ramps to get it up there. Instead, some dumbass at the dealership decided it would be big publicity to crush a competitor.

Who goes out to see this junk? This was about the dumbest public event I've ever seen.

The reporting is as biased as the stunt...

<<The message became somewhat cluttered when the tiny Honda broke the SUV.>>
The Honda didn't break the hydraulic hose. High hydraulic pressure broke the hose, or it was left dangling for something to catch it.

<<A few hours later the truck was repaired and the Accord, which proved to be too tough a competitor, was replaced with a Hyundai Excel.>>
The Honda was replaced because the first pass crushed it beyond recognition.

That's just bad reporting.

Georgie 12-22-2008 05:13 PM

thats not bad reporting, that's just our print media ;)
