Oil Leak From Oil Cooler

When I did the Oil Change I notice Oil close to the filter, I cleaned the area and changed the Oil, recently I decided to take a look and notice oil again...:mad0260:

I read about loose srews on the oil cooler, mine where loose also so I tight them ...Have you had the same problem? It was resolved with that?

They all do it!:headbang:

ssmike 09-28-2010 08:03 AM

Mine's doing it AGAIN! Had it in 2 months ago and they replaced the oil cooler adaptor gasket. I was under the car the other day and noticed that tell tale sign of oil under the adaptor again. It goes in next Monday!

Still waiting for the parts that the dealer ordered since 6 sept 2010..

Just picked up the car from the dealer for the oil leak. This time they said it was the oil pan gasket. The oil cooler was o.k. This is the second oil leak on my car, seems a little extreme for a brand new car with only 7000 miles on it.

camarossrs2150 10-09-2010 07:47 AM

had my oil cooler gaskets replaced last week and now my pan is leaking in 2 spots and i can see them bubbling. my dealer brings it to my house yesterday and said they ordered a new pan and new gasket .and have to replace something else also.they say its leaking from somewhere else also .this is bullshit .this is about a 5 hour job to replace this pan .this sucks

BlownSS 10-09-2010 06:02 PM

I got my oil cooler line fixxed.......so far so good!

Can anyone tell me the TSB for the oil cooler leak that requires a new gasket?

Hebe4 11-05-2010 03:15 PM

I don't think there is a TSB but if you have a leaking gasket I'm sure the dealer will replace it. I'm going in for mine next week......and it looks just like the OP's.

The only oil leak TSB I've seen is this one

Service Bulletin: #05-06-01-034K: 5.3L, 5.7L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L-Engine Oil Leak at Rear Cover Assembly Area (Engine Block Porosity RTV Repair Procedure) - (Apr 8, 2010)

I too would like to know the TSB number for the oil cooler leak

oachalon 11-08-2010 03:55 PM

Yes, I have seen this one too. I'm beginning to think there isn't one and everyone is thinking this TSB is the one for the gasket fix. Thanks anyway.

BlownSS 11-08-2010 05:20 PM

when i had mine repaired, they took my wod for it and had it on the lift with the part ready to replace withing 15 minutes. They told me that it has been a big problem and my dealership was well aware of the issue because the silverados/tahoes have the same issues. They just replaced the gasket on mine......luckily, they only had the part for the zo6 motor which is a better one and has silicone edges which makes for a better seal.

first one 11-09-2010 01:51 PM

Replaced!

No one would answer me and I posted on several threads all saying there was a TSB look in the sticky section :mad0259:, but finally realized they were full of it because there is not one! Anyway, I won't be that way. Here is your part number for the gasket - 15203889

oachalon 11-10-2010 01:23 PM

first one, thank you for the help.

Yeah i think people are confused with the other oil leak tsb and the oil cooler leak.

maybe a little extreme for 7,000 miles but ours is leaking and we've had the car 3 days / less than 100 miles....

it's sitting at the dealer right now....

Mine is doing this as well. As soon as finals are over, into the dealer it goes.
