Anyone getting cloth?

Is anyone on here NOT getting leather?

I'm not sure if I can afford the leather, but I really want it. :(

Superman09 12-27-2008 04:23 PM

I am getting the 1SS with the cloth interior. I currently drive a car with leather and its a pain. Hot as H*** in the summer and ICE cold in winter. Plus baby seats totally kill leather.

Emher 12-27-2008 05:17 PM

It's an American car with a V8. It needs leather!

Dave McFly 12-27-2008 05:40 PM

after seeing those sweet 2 tone black/gray seats in that red SS I want those in my CGM LS :happyanim:.

ZoomZoom 12-27-2008 06:06 PM

any way to order cloth in a 2SS/RS??

FFMaro 12-27-2008 06:37 PM

Ordering a 1SS with cloth seats.

I cant decide between CGM, SIM, or VR for the color though.

Nope.

1SS here, which I wasn't sure about until I saw HeatheR's car. I'm convinced it's ok to be cloth now.

Melson 12-27-2008 07:04 PM

Yep, 2SS/RS

Wait, you can get a 2SS/RS cloth?

Ant 12-28-2008 12:57 AM

Are there any pics of the different cloth interior colors/options besides the one in Heather's thread of the red Camaro?

stovt001 12-28-2008 01:08 AM

I originally wanted leather, as the first pics we saw of cloth interiors a while back didn't look so great. The pictures from Heather's car make the cloth look great, and the easier upkeep, lower surface temps, and cheaper price of cloth seal the deal. I'm going for cloth now.

SScattergunSS 12-28-2008 01:09 AM

I'm getting a black on black 1SS/RS with polished wheels.

TheClassicCarKid 12-28-2008 01:29 AM

The cloth looks really good and it's what I'm getting

Never2LowChevy 12-28-2008 08:09 AM

Im going with cloth. If it wears out then I will get a Katzkin leather kit for it and have better leather then stock and be able to choose my colors.

NAHURRY 12-28-2008 08:20 AM

Leather for me;)

Camaroinmo 12-28-2008 08:36 AM

Leather rocks! It will outlast fabric by 10x, and it's soooo much easier to maintain than fabric. Besides, the pictures of the fabric I've seen so far look like the fabric in my Wife's old PT Cruiser which was the biggest pain the ass ever. Every time a drop of water touched her fabric it would leave a spot for some reason. The only way to get rid of it was to get the whole freakin' seat wet to even it out. For all of you getting fabric, I really hope it's a different material than that used in the PT Cruiser. Me, I'm not taking chances, leather FTW.

camaropete 12-28-2008 09:09 AM

I ordered leather, but I think either one is going to be awesome in this car!

MerF 12-28-2008 09:10 AM

It's a GM...by it's very nature it's better quality than Chrysler. ;)

EllwynX 12-28-2008 09:38 AM

I'm getting a 2SS so I'll have leather. But I have no problems with cloth, if leather had been an option of the 2SS I probably wouldn't have paid the xtra for it.

EXTREME 01-01-2009 06:01 PM

I'd have to have leather... what else is there anyway..

Xanthos 01-01-2009 09:39 PM

I'll be getting cloth in my 1LT.

Cloth...Especially after seeing/touching sitting on it, trust me it's nice cloth.

I don't want all the extra junk on 2SS anyhow so it's perfect.

brantley847 01-01-2009 11:43 PM

ehhh I live in FL so the leather will be warm...that is my only concern, but I do not see any other drawl backs?

GM does a good job with their cloth....but easier clean up than leather?! Are you joking? I WILL NOT drink cola or eat in my camaro, but I drink alot of water...and I had water spotting on my cloth for the last GM model I had. Maybe its a mixture or dirt and water? I really don't know, but I could not lift that stain for the life of me and it looked like my passenger took a s---. Worked great for the next woman in the car..."hey hun, please sit in my heaping pile of s--- for a seat."

Nothing against GM at all, its just cloth in general is much more of a task to keep clean than leather. Last time I had leather it remained in great condition for 14 years without ripping or damaging.

However Cloth does get some big points because I will say that two tone cloth does look ssssssexxxxxxxxy as hell...

Same, don't need no stinkin leather ;) Anyways 50%-70% (this is a guess, don't get mad at me GM) of the material isn't leather, just the small square you sit on and the small strip up your back. All the sides and rest of it are that fake leather material. For the amount of extra money the 2SS costs, you can buy 4 real 100% leather seats with equal quality leather (the leather parts that is). Ofcourse you'd be missing the bluetooth and interior lighting, however I can live without them in exchange for higher quality seats. In my case since I live in Miami, Florida, leather is out of the question since I don't plan on getting limo tints..
