Supercharged SS goes into Version 3

Not sure where to put this so since it contains drivetrain info I'll stick it here. We decided to go with a Jannetty Racing 4.10 built rear with Ted's posi kit. He seems to think that this will work best for the car and he hasn't steered me wrong yet. Time will tell. Fortunately for me, my Buddy Ray, Fastfaster on here if he hasn't been baned yet, offered me a deal I couldn't resist on the rear so it was a no brainer. It was so gd that it would have been stupid not to do. So maybe I'll run a vinyl deacl of him on my hood at the track in appreciation!:sm0:
So with that Ted is also going to install the Pfadt trailing arms and bushings. Hopefully this will help with the 60' and knock a little off the ET. Only time will tell. Install hopefully the end of next wk. Ray is waiting for his 9" to show up.

Thank you to all you guys that offered me advice. It really helped me. Now we just wait and see what happens and go from there. Thanks again!

Nice!!! ET Predictions? :)

Wow I love the numbers you had and cant wait to see what you do with 4.10's Question though..why an underdrive pully with a SC. doesnt that defeat the purpose of smaller pully on the sc? How many passes so far on stock bottom end?

Good move. At the stage your at suspension is a critical factor.

It's an 10% overdrive pulley, not an underdrive pulley. On the rebuilt stock bottom end 12 or so mid to low 10 second passes. I just got the car back a wk ago.

Supercharger,

Mine and your setup's are pretty close and would love to swap stories. Ran a 11.21 on Wen. and know I should be able to get into a 10.9 Thinking about the 4.10 as well and have also looked into the cluch and axel's are well. the 11.2 was made using 20" with nitto 315 N05R tires.

Are you using 17" tires on front and back??? was looking into doing 17" Mickys in the rear to get a better takeoff.

In the front I still run the stock 20". In the back I run a 28x10x17 Hoosier bias ply slick. Up until now its been great. High 1.4 to low 1.5 60's every single time.

Today we did the new 4.10 rear with the Jannetty Posi Mod. In addition to that we put in the Pfadt trailing arms and bushings and at the last minute decided to install some DSS 1400hp axles. The Ted went to work and retune the trans and its back to perfect again. First shot and in a few minutes!:) We test drove the car and its much better with the 4.10s and Teds tune. Shifts are great, nice and firm and quick, the rpms stay up between shifts, it all works out. So now its back to the track next Friday to see what we need to change next!:mad0259:

Oh cool...I did not see overdrive and if I did it just did not register. So you rebuilt the bottome end but kept everything stock? And what failures did you see the first go round? Man I cant wait to see what you do with the new gears. Must be nice to be so close to Ted.....I have bought a ton of great parts thru him.

All we found was a lifter failure. That's all. But we totally stripped the entire engine done so Ted could inspect it and have his guy rebuild it his way. Ted say no need to get crazy with the bottom right now. It was still brand new. If something happens I'll address it then but I really want to see how far we can go on the stock bottom.

And yes, it's awesome to have Ted 10 minutes away. I showed up at one today, he said go home and get your car, and by three I had the new rear, trailing arms and 1400 hp axles in and on the road. Oh yeah, he redid the trans tune. Sure made my life easier!!

I see 9's for you next time at the track.

Maybe not next time but this year. Next time out will be a lot of trial and error and looking to see what adjustment or purchases need to be made. Plenty of time left in '10 to go after the 9's.

Why overdrive pulley?

Yeah, I understand why an under drive pulley would be counterproductive on a blown engine. But what's the point in an over drive pulley. Why not adjust boost with the blower pulley, and let well enough alone? Is there some benefit to pulling the belt itself faster?

Because going to a bigger lower pulley gives more surface area increasing belt traction. When you go down on the Blower pulley you take away surface area and decrease belt traction.

That's the short of it :)

Wow you got 4.10's, a stall and a maggie. That sounds like crazy fun but I would think it would make for alot of smoke and sideways action. How is it doing with all that low end? Also, I was wondering if Ted took some or all of the torque management out of the trans tune. I think I would for sure get into some trouble with that combination of parts:Whoa5thGenSmall: If you can make it HOOK really well I would think you could cut some very low 60'. Good luck
